Tuesday at 12:35 PM1 day Popular Post Bobby Burton Posted 42 minutes ago A couple of players who have announced for the portal to know: CB Bo Mascoe - Rutgers DL Ian Geffrard - Arkansas Before becoming an Honorable Mention All-Big 10 selection in 2025, Mascoe played for and was recruited to Rutgers by current Texas cornerbacks coach Mark Orphey. He totaled more than 50 tackles and made one interception this season. He’s originally from Kissimmee, Fla. Geffrard, who is originally from Georgia, is a 6-foot-5, 360-pound interior run-stopper and lane plugger. He started all 12 games for the Razorbacks this season. While Geffrard has announced he is entering the portal, it should be noted that Arkansas continues to recruit him in an attempt to keep him Fayetteville. ** An update on what I believe Texas is looking at in the portal: - at least one RB even if Tre Wisner returns (need a productive, bigger back for sure) - one WR; more slot and receiver who can shake man coverage quickly underneath - possibly one TE; it kind of depends on the decision of Jack Endries - 2-3 OLs ; at least two interior OL, possibly a third; also may look at a tackle if one becomes available; if Goosby stays, the level of that tackle may just be depth - 1 DL; this number assumes all current DLs stay; definitely need an over-the-ball type - 2 LBs; the lack of depth at the position is evident - 1-2 DB; given the relative youth of the secondary next season, there needs to be at least one transfer, possibly, who is a multi-year starter - 1 P and 1 K; Texas needs proven commodities at both spots and should not rely on incoming freshman, no matter how talented theyÂ
Tuesday at 01:42 PM1 day Mascoe would be a big addition, need a veteran lockdown corner in the worst way. Edited Tuesday at 01:42 PM1 day by 6th Street
Tuesday at 02:43 PM1 day This portal opening is going to be the most entertaining part of this whole thing since the end of the OSU playoff game a year ago.  Sark is keeping Orphey? Or just until a replacement can be found after the season?

That QB from Ole Miss that finished high school 2 years early and has ridden the bench for 3 years now learned that too. I don't want to give Ryan Williams what he wants because, well, he has Wingo hands. But if he's affordable (he's not) and won't break the bank, take him. He's not total shit, he's shown flashes, and obviously not every WR is made the same. He had a shit year, and that may be his mean, but what he showed his freshman year was nothing short of phenomenal for a kid who was just 17. I don't know if it's a Soph slump or what, but my guess is he's soft. Once he got lit up hard he wasn't the same again. He avoids contact.  All I was saying is if Sark took him (he's not leaving Bama so it's moot) I would be fine with it. No disappointment. But I would much rather have Antonio Williams, TJ Moore, or Wesco (man that's crazy they have three bad ass WR's and can't win more than 6 games). Cam Coleman is just another Wingo, so I don't care about where he lands. Wingo, Williams, and Coleman all seem to have a problem catching the ball.Â

Tuesday at 08:20 PM1 day Yesterday Simmons posted "Live, Laugh, Love," and I just assume he's going into the portal.
Tuesday at 08:26 PM1 day Id delete the post but I guess there's a time limit. I forgot the sunshine only rule for the 9.95 forum. Mea culpa.
Tuesday at 08:30 PM1 day It has nothing to do with sunshine. That post could have been because he stubbed his toe.

Tuesday at 08:57 PM1 day I joke about it but some fans genuinely can't grasp that the players on their favorite teams are actual people and might possibly be talking about something else in their life other than the sport they watch. Edited Tuesday at 08:57 PM1 day by Huckleberry
Tuesday at 09:07 PM1 day IT put up an article saying that Auburn LB who announced today, Robert Woodyard Jr, is one of the two names they had been told to keep an eye on for LB.Â

Tuesday at 09:13 PM1 day Other players mentioned by IT to watch (sorry if already posted but didn't notice it if so): Quote With the NCAA Transfer Portal set to open on January 2nd, the Texas Longhorns will be very active. Here are a few prospects that could end up on the Horns Portal Board. Tree Babalade, OT, South Carolina via Hyattsville (Md.) The Gamecocks’ redshirt sophomore offensive lineman plans to enter the portal when the window opens next month. Babalade started 15 games for the SEC’s USC, earning snaps in 22 overall games across three years. He split time between left tackle and right tackle, and that versatility could be very intriguing for Texas. The Horns need depth at offensive tackle behind Trevor Goosby and Brandon Baker. With 421 snaps in 2025, he posted a solid 70.1 pass blocking grade and but a not so strong 56.3 run blocking mark. The 6-5, 330-pound blocker was a four-star prospect out of DeMatha Catholic in the Class of 2023. Babalade will have two years of eligibility remaining in college. Ian Geffrard, DT, Arkansas via Mableton (Ga.) The former 2023 three-star from Whitefield Academy in Mableton, Georgia signed as an offensive lineman but was converted to defensive tackle in Fayetteville. Geffrard hit the field early in 2023, playing in four games that season, including three SEC contests. In 2024 and 2025, he played in all 24 games with 12 starts, The 2025 season was the most dominant of Geffrard’s career for the 6-foot-5, 387-pounder. He would finish with 25 total tackles, including 4.0 tackles for a loss. He also had a pass defended during the year. He took 429 snaps in 2025, with a solid 72.8 overall defensive grade and 78.6 run blocking mark. Texas would like another plugger at nose, Geffrard would be one of my first phone calls. Amari Odom, QB, Kennesaw State via Cary (N.C.) Panther Creek The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder will enter the Transfer Portal and Texas needs a replacement for Matthew Caldwell. Odom threw for 2,594 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2025, in addition to passing for 1,565 yards and seven scores in 2024. Odom’s family has impressive sports DNA. His father, DeWayne, played for the San Diego Chargers while his mother played professionally in the WNBA. Odom produced a strong 75.0 overall defensive mark in 2025, sporting 73.9 (passing) and 64.6 (rushing grades. Caldwell was a perfect add last year as Arch Manning‘s backup. Steve Sarkisian and AJ Milwee will be looking to duplicate that this offseason. Antonio Tripp Jr, IOL, FIU via Miami via Owings Mills (Md.) The 6-foot-3, 300-pound South Beach offensive lineman saw little action in two seasons at Miami and enjoyed a quality year at FIU in 2025. But Texas needs to fix the interior O-line and Tripp Jr. could help in that regard. He will do so with three years of collegiate eligibility remaining after utilizing his redshirt. The multi-time transfer notched a 60.2 overall grade on 526 snaps, per PFF. He added a 67.8 pass blocking score and 61.3 run blocking mark in 2025. He originally transferred to play HS ball at The IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.) and was the No. 769 overall recruit there as a three-star prospect in the 2023 class. He also rated as a Top-75 IOL in the class and a top 125 player out of Florida. Texas and Kyle Flood will look for multiple interior linemen. Tripp Jr. could potentially be in the watch list.  Â
