Almost as unceremonious as his past 2 victories to finish off the season, Tom "the turtle" Herman has been removed as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns.

We don't really wish you anything, but to get the hell out of here Tom.

What were sark's staffs line at Washington and USC? He had Tosh Lupoi and ogre right?

I dealt with Steve a lot while he was at Washington. First thing to know is he is incredibly bright. He learned a lot at Washington and fought some demons. He's a bright, articulate, charming, engaging guy who is also competitive as hell. He's appeared to put his demons behind him.

You're going to love Sark. It will be interesting to see who he fills his staff with. Knowing the competitive nature of Sark, I'm sure he negotiated a large assistant salary pool. If he gets Tosh Lupoi on staff, watch out. Tosh is one of the best recruiters I've ever dealt with. He's currently with Atlanta.

He's an outstanding recruiter and phenomenal working with QB's. He trusts his guys and has an edge. Guys love playing for him.

Texas didn't hit a home run with Sark. They hit a grand slam.

Yeah, Kirby's central problem is that he's a DC and continues to try to win with defense.

He hasn't made Georgia a juggernaut, but they're a solid number 2 in SEC.

uga has been in second place for a while. Kirby hasn't made them appreciably better than MR.  they almost had to say they didn't want to be there, again yesterday. that's my point.  KS was supposed to make them a CFB playoff championship team.  They are marginally better than they were.

If Sark can get texas to uga level, I'll be happy.  that's a shit more than where we are now.  that's for sure.  I just don't know it can happen based on all the available data on Sark.

and for the record, i'm glad he's in recovery and wish him the best but this pressure cooker makes that fact a risk.  one that concerns me.

CDC failed, and failed huge. We are a national embarrassment.

National embarrassment?  Come on.  I’m getting texts from Bama people congratulating me on the hire.  They are very high on Sark (ha, see what I’d did there) on Sark.

Tom was an asshole. Not just in his pressers. I had a player as an intern his first year. Dude had to hold his breath when we talked about Herman.

I will also take the guy who has been with Saban watching how the most elite program works...and helping it.

Now, let’s see what happens on the field...but I’m on board right now.

Yeah, we should’ve been hiring guys who learned under HOF HCs the last two times we wouldn’t be in this position.

Nailed it. Guys like Lincoln Riley, Ryan Day, Matt Lafleur, and Kyle Shanahan have showed that you just can’t have success as a HC who calls plays.

So, Sark's 5 crap seasons here will be the bridge to no title before 2045?

Color me unimpressed.  I'm all for firing Herman, but this is not an improvement worthy of the cost.  CDC is hitching his tenure and reputation to fucking Steve Sarkisian?  Hopefully this is the mother of all misdirections and the real coach is announced forthwith.

Maybe one time Sark shook Urbs hand and that's the real connection. Also, Sark is gonna close with Ewers because he'll be here for the future and teams can't negative recruit that. Plus he can point to Tua, Mac Jones, and the Bama offense. Kids will buy any even if they don't understand it.

48-14 with a conf championship, played for 3 total and 2 CFP trips with likely 4 straight top 10 finishes?

This is why Texas fans have unrealistic expectations of that’s considered “Jack crap”

If we get anything close to that, most of us will be drunker than Sark.

It's really not a bad hire from typical football view. We're just gambling that he can get it done without Saban being there to hold his hand. And as we saw with Herman and a lot of other guys, that can be a hard thing to do.

I'm scared we get Jeremy, though.

Wrong. His offenses at ISU and UH weren’t all that good and plenty of people pointed that out.

Comparing Herman’s short history to Sark’s laughable. We know way more about Sark as an offensive coach than we did Herman.

About 5 players loved strong lulz. They were forced to do that dancing with the coach in the locker room bullshit. Losing makes you hate your coach. All those fuckin sprints, the hell days in the weight room...all to lose to Kansas. They wouldn’t piss on strong if he was on fire I’d bet. Deshon Elliot is a dumbass also lol.

tell me how much better uga is under KS than it was under MR?  not much.  uga was already within striking distance of being in the top 3.  they continue to be second to Florida most years and don't beat Bama and lose to Tom Herman and nearly lose to Cincy.  MR and KS are Mack Brown at best.  We had Urban Meyer's eyes on us and we failed.  A guy known to be drunk at practice as the HC with a barely above 500 record was our choice.  pardon me but I'm no where near the dumbest fucking thing that's been said on this board.

Tom didn’t even call plays the majority of his time at Texas. He tried to delegate play calling and then had to take it from Beck when he was terrible and he generally had Yurcich calling plays this year even though he likely interfered a lot. Point is, Tom calling plays some of the time was not why he failed here
