  1. He came sometime between noon and 5:00.
  2. Disagree. Have you seen Raising Arizona?
  3. When my grandfather was about 98 or barely 99, he told my brother (with a bit of pride in his voice)- "You know, sometimes I still get excited." Perhaps that's what he's talking about.
  4. Sorry, dude. I'm the board Eeyore. You're the "both sides" guy. Stay in your fucking lane.
  5. So maybe someone who played on the Longhorn defense between 2010 and 2016, judging by his ability to wrap up.
  6. Are you trying to order a competent administration?
  7. So yesterday we had some fun. There's a 1st grade class at the school two blocks from our house which incubated some eggs around Easter time, and the teacher was desperate for a place to keep give away the chickens where she could tell the kids they weren't going to be eaten. My wife volunteered us. And this week, we had the class over as a field trip. I spent two hours talking about chickens, and chicken poop compost, and gardening, and native fruit plants. And some of the kids who live in apartments went wild over the wildflowers and bees all over our yard. They also dug on picking blackberries, and tomatoes, and we sent them all home with more veggies and herbs than some of them have probably eaten in a month. They were attentive the whole time, though. Made me happy to see that the future is not totally screwed. Some of those kids will be doing their own gardening some day.
  8. State government was full on in charge when I went to UT. I paid around $20/hour the last semester I was there. Then the state government reduced funding and started relying on federally backed loans to pay for public higher education. What made the price go up was giving the banks a vested interest in raising the cost of higher education. So they set about making that shit happen. I don't even think today's college student at UT would have a frame of reference for what a $20/hour semester bill would look like, and that wasn't that long ago. When you give a financial interest to private entities for public goods, you put yourself in a terrible position. Private interests are going to figure out how to maximize profit and minimize risk, and when they can buy off the politicians making the laws, not only can they minimize risk, they can fucking socialize it with fed backed loans. I think we've seen the effects of that in education very clearly.
  9. Rehabilitated? Well, now let me see. You know, I don't have any idea what that means.
  10. Fuck all the bitches in this thread. You know who you are.
  11. Oh, and she has come up with a super intuitive storage place for sunscreen and bug repellent:

  17. Try to imagine this administration managing a taco bell.
  18. Down to 282 this morning. 34 pounds lost since April 6. Feeling great. I've noticed that my hunger pains are pretty much gone and I'm only eating once a day with a snack of mixed nuts at either 1 PM or 8 PM. Dinner consists of low carb food (eggs last night, salad night before). Mainly drinking coffee and about 2 gallons of water per day. No sodas or anything of that nature. Had a 6 pack of tall boys last Friday when I went to a concert. Last Saturday, woke up and worked outside cementing beams in for a patio cover. Checked my weight on Sunday and lost a pound from Friday morning to Sunday morning. I'm assuming I sweated out the booze. Amazing how much more confidence I feel in my appearance. Can't wait to lose 34 more pounds. Wife has been more in to me as well. Feels good. I need to hit the gym soon and start toning up. Just gotta make time.
  19. Official subtitle of the Donald Trump presidency.
  20. In his hands, every dollar is a large dollar.
  21. EJ posted a nugget saying Tyler Johnson may no longer be waiting to commit. He’s hearing good things.

Reasonable to me would be locked up in a safe or some sort of locking wall mount. Or with a trigger lock. I would support a law requiring such precautions if minors live in the home.
  23. I look forward to you opening a box with nothing but an ill fitting MAGA hat in 4-6 weeks.
  24. I visited your birthplace yesterday, well actually I was in your mom.
  25. Turns out he was riding Miss Daisy.
  26. Other parents or family / spouses of active-duty personnel can relate, but for us, it's like this dangerous fucking moron is now in the family, because he has more power over our loved ones than we do. Marinate on that a bit. It's like having your drunk-ass uncle driving your kids home from school every day.
  27. Yeah, I tried to do that. All I got was: "This item is on back order. A new shipment is not expected until January 20, 2021."

He didn't blow them up to ease tension. He blew them up because they were at risk of a huge radiation leak. But he put on a show, and the gullible lap it up.

    This was a great call.
  33. His body language here cracks me up. Crossing your arms and clinching up like that is such a social defensive posture. What a posturing, chest-beating coward.
  34. This mofo has gotten lazy over the years. He used to stand at the door till we let him out. Now, if we don't get there fast enough, he just lets out one of those dog sighs and lays here and stares at us till we take pity on him. Mind you, he has enough energy to bark nonstop at the guy replacing the neighbors' upstairs windows. Priorities. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  35. And you act like all the times he voted in line with Trump he was voting for the best interests of the citizenry of America. He voted against reinstating Net Neutrality He voted to repeal the law preventing Internet service providers from sharing your online activities He voted to repeal rules meant to protect borrowers from discriminatory auto loan practices He voted to roll back parts of Dodd Frank Oh, and he voted in favor of the nominations of Betsy DeVos, Scott Pruitt, Ben Carson, and fucking Rick Perry to control our nuclear arsenal, for God's sake!
  36. worked at a Luby's back in the day. we had a lady on the line who was Korean...and she absolutely hated Vietnamese people with passion that rivaled the heat of a thousand suns. if it were somewhat slow and a Vietnamese person or family was coming up she'd walk off the line. she called them "dog people." this is Port Arthur, mind you, so there's a big Viet population. one particular day it was hot and heavy...long line, loud and worst of all late in the day and we were tired. the Korean lady has her head down and not paying attention, she looks up and there's a Vietnamese family right in front of her. the look of disgust is burned in my memory. so they tell her what she wants, she repeats it back, and neither can understand each other's broken ass English. she'd grab the spoon for something and the Viets would raise hell "NO! NO! NO! DAH (translation: "THAT")! the manager and i we're watching this racist shitshow unfold and busting out laughing. after about the third time the Korean lady had enough of that shit and started screaming at them, so they scream back...each in their native tongue. and finally Korea has enough, grabs a spoon full of macaroni and cheese and flings that shit at the customers somewhere close to the speed of light....hard enough to stick to the wall behind them and just over the head of some poor coonass who was also laughing. thus ended the career of Korean Luby's line-lady.
  37. While we are at it...can we stop with the stupid God Bless America bullshit at baseball games during the stretch. 911 fake bullshit. Enough.....it is supposed to be Take Me Out To The Ballgame damnit !
