So hi. Some of y'all may remember me as Macallan12's Better Half from Shaggy and the Other-Site-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named. I'm really sickened by all this shit and I"m volunteering for the Beto campaign. My husband (Yes, that would be Macallan 12) and I are hosting Phone Banking for Beto most Tuesday and Thursday evenings at our home in August. If any of y'all want to participate, please message me and I'll give you the information. We live near 360/2222 in Austin, and I know some of y'all <cough Brisket, JimmyJazz/cough> are practically neighbors so please join us if you can. We will feed you and, um, "drink" you. So yeah. DO it.

Saw this in the twitter replies. I chuckled.

Went to Beto hq this morning and took a “class” to become a deputy registrar. 1.5 hours to go over how to get people to fill out a form (who are us citizens and not felons on paper) and then take them in to the right office. Stupid, but not a big pain in the ass and I’m looking forward to registering the fuck out of anyone I can.
  4. My grandfather was an antifa. He earned a purple heart for the cause as well. There were most assuredly not good people on both sides. There were good people on one side and genocidal maniacs among a population blinded by nationalism on the other.

It is, but the reason why is that it's a perverse expression of their own impotence. Their obsession with cucks, worship for a dominating authoritarian like Trump, and support for a sniveling wimp like Cruz who curls at the feet of the man who punked his wife and father — it's all related. And the idea that libs are getting owned and dominated is just another voyeuristic fantasy. The funny thing is that the actual libs they're fantasizing about are doing just fine, while the Trump and Cruz voters are getting fucked every which way. Which is part of the perverse cycle of impotence driving their whole pathology. There are self-respecting people voting for Cruz for purely political/ideological reasons, but they aren't happy about it, and are pretty disgusted to have that Canadian pansy representing the great state of Texas. Anyone voting for Cruz who's actually happy about it and cheering Beto's loss is the political equivalent of the gimp from pulp fiction.
  6. They’re low energy so you don’t hear from them much.
  7. Is that their child?
  8. Just so BigVegasHorn26 can go fuck his miserable self, sure. Orlando went and saw him in the spring evaluation period after a friend of the program gave them a heads up that the kid is a stud. One of those raw Florida guys that feeds the SEC, Clemson, Miami and FSU. In June, he measured 6’1” without shoes, weighed 218 and ran a 4.27 shuttle. He has a 76 inch wingspan. Those are no bullshit measurements from someone who was present. He likes and has liked Texas for a while. Texas has been working on him for months and they’ve built up to this moment with him. It’s not a “in the moment” scenario for a noob recruit. I realize that the $9.95-ers haven’t had this guy on the radar, so handwringers in the fan base can’t understand the commit and need EJ Holland or Geoff Ketchum to give them an update so they can know how to feel, but people who know what the fuck they’re doing within the program and near it think they’re stealing this guy.

  11. Columbus Day is bad right? In the same vein, is there a case to be made that all Spanish influence should be wiped from our history too because the invading Spaniards were totally wack to the Mayans and shit. Or do their atrocities get a pass because they aren't considered "white." Or are they considered "white?" There are at least European and European colonizers were bad. Whether you get a deep, rich tan or whether you burn in the sun seems to be he deciding factor here. But Columbus was Italian and they tan pretty good too. I'm gonna need a millennial with at least 12 college credits to make a definitive judgement on this.
  12. Wrong, it stands for "ties".

And yet, that's completely false, because your assumptions are false and skewed by your own biases: And "Israel was the "most important" voting issue for a mere 4% of respondents in the Public Religion Research Institute's 2012 Jewish Values survey. Israel was one of two top "voting issue priorities" for just 10% in a J Street poll conducted around the same time. More recently, "U.S.-Israel relations" was the most important issue for only 7.2% in the American Jewish Committee's 2015 study of Jewish American opinion, ranking fifth behind "economy" (41.7%), "national security" (12.3%), "healthcare" (12%), and "income inequality" (11.6%). It was the second and the third-most important issue for only 7.6% and 11.1%, respectively." http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-bronitsky-jewish-vote-20161029-story.html Back to the Cruz discussion, you're just not smart enough to pull off the "I always vote Dem but defend Republicans" troll routine. We get it, you're one of the gimps hooking on to the leash with Cruz.

  21. Obviously the press has failed to focus on the positive aspects of snatching a three year old away from his/her parents, leaving them to cry and scream all, all alone. That is still one of the most evil and vile things trump has done. Nazi level shit right there.

If you’ve reached a point in your life where you are actively defending Ted Cruz, then you’ve hit rock bottom and need to reevaluate things.

  25. Being reasonably equal in intelligence, who do you go to for advice on the really important things in life? Some 25 year old that hasn't pissed a drop in his life or an older person that has lived life and made real decisions? I don't understand the mocking and discounting of old people. They're by no means perfect (no one is), but older people should be valued and respected.

Just found out from friends that are still friends with my ex on Facebook (I’ve been blocked since the divorce began 4 years ago), that ex mshomesick is engaged. I knew she was in Mexico, and thought this might be the case, but it would’ve been easier had there been a heads up. Apparently, she proposed. Once I started fielding the millions of texts asking if I’d heard, I looked at little homesick, and brokered the news. “Yay!” Was his response. “As long as he makes your mom happy, and more importantly, as long as he makes you happy, then I’m happy buddy”. “Dad, you’re the best dad ever. He’s always just gonna be an almost dad”. Sorry, but I had a hard time keeping my allergies from kicking in when I actually thanked my 7yr old son for saying that unprovoked. Here’s my hero. This might’ve been better on the Dad thread.

  32. The ring was found on the shores of Normandy and she tracked down the grandson of the fallen aggy hero to return the ring. They then all went to the grave of the brave aggy who won the war for 'murica and buried it with him so it will be forever with him. When everyone was about to walk away, the grandson yelled 'Saw em off' or some shit because grandpa would have wanted it that way.
  33. I picture you walking into the meeting saying "How do you do, fellow Democrats?"
  34. Well, that explains everything.
  35. I punched a Trumpist last weekend. But it was all a misunderstanding. Somebody yelled “He’s a Trumpist!” but I thought they said “He plays trumpet!” Woodwinds 4 life, muthafucka.
