There are a lot of men in the public spotlight who make my brain explode, in that they're way past retirement age, worth a shit ton of money, have it made in life, and yet they keep working their high-stress jobs until they die or get fired. Mack Brown is a perfect example of that IMO. I always think "dude, take your millions of dollars, live in your ridiculous lakehouse, go play golf every day then retire to your pool in the afternoon for margaritas, and spend as much time as you possibly can with your grandkids". But those guys just don't know life without their jobs and their identity.
Joe Biden was the exact opposite. He stepped away and seemed perfectly content to spend time with his family, with his wife whom it appears he has a tremendous relationship with, and, well, his ridiculous giant bad ass house and spread.
I truly believe that he came back out of need, not want. He felt a call to duty. Whether or not he really did need to might be up for debate, but he is a good man and I respect him.
And he got the job done. Fuck yeah.
