In your prolonged absence, we actually discussed this with similar thinking to your own. There has been one move made to pump a school for more money because Texas is looking - Sexton for Dan Mullen. Even that might not completely be the case because even Mullen stopped getting mentioned by reporters shortly after he was originally floated. One of the more unusual things about this search so far, for UT's history of weak behavior on the subject, is the general lack of leaks from really anywhere.
If you look back at everything, I'm fairly certain that the faucet got turned off immediately after this sequence of events:
1) Eltife's guy gets on a plane, delisted, and visits UM.
2) Burton releases specific information about the trip and the fact that that nothing's finished but progress was made. Burton did not claim that Eltife was on the plane or that he met with Meyer.
3) Geoff Ketchum almost immediately posts his own fiction around the same subject. He gets key details completely incorrect and makes an ass out of Eltife and others with the false information. He then retracts those parts of the article he wrote and publicly pleas on Twitter, in the most pussified, indirect way, to be understood and forgiven by whoever he burned with his release.
4) Shortly thereafter, the word trickles out that UM has indicated he's not interested.
5) Virtually nothing useful has made its way out from there. We've heard about Kubiag, Kelly, and Mullen since. All of those were known outreach, if not publicly known, before the Ketchum Butterfuck of 2020. I don't think anything has made its way out since Ketchum clusterfucking things like the fat fucking retard that he is.
Seriously, someone should fact check my timeline, but it seems like this is what occurred. If that's true, we need to figure out a way to make this the last time Geoff Ketchum gets to fuck up something for UT fans. I'm talking crowdsourcing a campaign at Rivals and Yahoo! and ensuring that his subscriber base feels under attack for supporting him in some way.
