Of course you're right. I've always taken the position that one should not speak ill of the dead. I've expressed that view repeatedly on this board and the previous one, often strongly disagreeing with people who were celebrating various deaths.
It's indecent. It's profane. And it's just ugly to speak badly of someone who is no longer here to defend him/herself. And even if you're not into the fairness of it, you should beware of the reciprocity. Because we'll all be dead one day. And we'd all prefer it if people only spoke well of us (if they need to speak at all).
But I'm so tired of it. I'm so tired of answering the indecent with decency; of answering profanity with propriety.
These people have, for political gain, killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. They have plotted a coup to install a mentally-challenged criminal as dictator. They have betrayed the country time and again. And they have done all this while spewing complete lies and invective.
So you know what? I'm fucking glad he's dead. Yeah--his kids will grow up without a father. But the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. And right now, the many need Congressional Republicans to die, politically, socially, and corporeally. Because they've already died spiritually, ethically, and patriotically.
