I know there are a lot of Westlake honks on here, but I just don't see how there is going to be much of a qb battle. Casey Thompson played the best half of qb at Texas in the alamo bowl than we've seen since Colt.
I know Colorado isn't exactly the 85 bears but people need to go back and rewatch the game. He was dropping dimes out there. He threw more passes accurately down field (even the ones that weren't caught) in one half than Ehlinger did in his entire career.
That bomb he threw to Dixon hit him perfectly in stride 50 yards down the field. Those two posts that they scored on were perfectly thrown. He tried on a few more shots downfield that were covered well but were otherwise catchable. On that little throw back screen that Bijan scored on, even that wasn't an easy throw and he put it on the money. And all of that doesn't even include that ridiculous pass that he made when the line botched the assignment and he juked the defender, set his feet and put it right on Brewer's hands. He made one bad decision that should've been picked but other than that, he was nearly flawless.
I honestly don't know what the fuck any of you were watching if you think that he's not starting. He should've been playing the entire season. I suppose there is the possibility that it was an anomaly but he was making play after play after play after play. If you want to argue that Colorado is bad, then fine. But they are probably at least big 12 average on defense. We certainly faced worse defenses and didn't fare nearly as well.
