  1. I put together an article for Texas Highways regarding Juneteenth. The historical photos are fantastic but what I found most interesting were the stories of the former slaves. The one regarding Uncle Bob Ford and his roll in The Great Hanging at Gainesville --- one of the really tragic events in Texas history ---- is pretty mind blowing. I'd be mighty obliged if y'all would read it. https://texashighways.com/travel-news/the-history-of-juneteenth-in-photos/
  2. "Son, see those Fords at the end of the video? With the power of an OU degree, you can be selling those for the rest of your life."
  3. The Catholic Church is a morally bankrupt organization and the world would be better off without it.
  4. Never forget that the ultimate goal of the insurrection was to force pence to declare trump the president and if he would not do that, kill him. Trump and his psycho supporters actually believed that trump had the power to do that. Just listen to trumps speech before the insurrection. “Because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. All he has to do, all this is, this is from the number one, or certainly one of the top, Constitutional lawyers in our country. He has the absolute right to do it. We’re supposed to protect our country, support our country, support our Constitution, and protect our constitution.” This was not some random act. It was a planned assault to steal the election and trump knew what was about to happen. Just watch the video of him and his coke head son in the tent after his speech. Cokehead junior and his ugly ass wife are partying it up. Meanwhile, trump is staring very intently at the television. He knows what’s about to happen.
  5. Too many of them are investing in Generac systems for their homes. My Trumpkin brother was whining about spending 8 grand on one and I told him to just donate the money to his local democrats, get them in office and let them just fix the system. I mean what the fuck, are we going to be buying personal maintainers to grade our roads, since TxDot seems to lose more funding every year? Drill our own water wells? Put in outhouses or septic systems? Already you look at these gomers wanting to carry guns because you can't count on the cops. Just fund shit to work properly. Shake my head.
  6. since none of y'all have stated the obvious yet I'll do it for you: it's @rdcanecutter. I had the privilege of a few days in his peculiar orbit and it's like Curb Your Enthusiasm meets To Kill a Mockingbird meets Confederacy of Dunces. (But he's not fat. He does have his medievalist tendencies though.)
  7. It’s not difficult to manipulate idiots.
  8. This is correct. And I say that as a guy who hates @SydneyCarton.
  9. What if they un-mute it?

Just checked in to the hotel and this is my view
  11. I’m at tech right now for orientation or whatever for my daughter. I’ll find this guy and tell him to get his ass to austin.

    Southerleigh’s Gulf Coast Benedict, imo.
  13. Urban meyer is a dirty POS, but he’s not even in the same galaxy as Tom Osborne. And I say that as a guy who hates urban Meyer.
  14. He is pretty elusive though. He eluded his senior year.

Woke up at 5am to find out my southwest flight at 11:50am (Austin to Houston to Omaha) originally arriving at 4:50 was moved to depart at 3:15 (Austin to Long. Beach to Vegas to Omaha) arriving at 11:50pm. I’ve been flying all week and the cancellations have been abnormally high…including one I was on Wednesday in Charlotte. Said f this and loaded up the truck. Two hours out from Omaha now. Clear head…smooth drive…nice Texas DPS trooper warning for going a little speedy when he found out we were headed direct to Omaha. Let’s do this boys! \m/
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/18/us/targeting-biden-catholic-bishops-advance-controversial-communion-plan.html In other news, religions reaffirm the decisions of tens of millions to leave organized religion in recent years. I applaud this brave move. The faster we relegate religion to the dustbin of history the better.
  17. Many people are saying they've never seen anyone so safe.
  18. You have that in common with your team

  20. We're not there, yet. The best time to get there was 400 years ago. The second best time is now.
  21. Great read and photos. Here’s a couple I took this morning
  22. Please, God, if you exist, let there be a smoking gun on Ted Cruz. That would make my decade.
  23. Father’s Day weekend off to a great with a 40 fish morning. Got to watch my 80 year old pop put it on them with his fly rod while the wife smoked both of us. 8 for me, 9 for Pop, and 23 for@MaidofGin.

Major's thirst for blood knows no bounds.
  25. I've been saying this consistently for four years--and it's not really even his fault--but a dude who can't guard the perimeter in today's NBA can't be the mother fucking defensive player of the year.
  26. Concepts considered when the Colt 45’s decided to change their name for the new domed stadium. They made the right choice, but I would buy this tshirt.
  27. Wife had a cavalier when we started dating. He died in 2018. We got another a year ago. Sadie is very sweet.
  28. I am old enough to remember when being a conservative didn't include single moms.
  29. Saw it on Facebook, but did lol.
  30. Great stuff posting all these tweets TARS!! 🤘 TARS reaction...
  31. Waffle House gets a bad rap. It is what it is, greasy griddle food and badass waffles best consumed after copious amounts of alcohol. If you can't appreciate the cosmic greatness that is scattered, smothered and covered then I'm not sure there's hope for you.
  32. Religious organizations do not provide a greater good than a grocery store or than an engineer that builds bridges and roads. This idea that God’s House should not pay taxes like the rest of us shifts that tax burden to others based on a belief system/clubhouse. It is absurd that this exists. It is easy to find examples of abuse, but the whole system is predicated on a lie that it is special and that religious folks are special because of a belief system.
