  1. I went down to 6 wins after the Sark/Ojomo tweet and then back up to 10 wins after watching Ewers make two practice throws. Situation is very fluid.
  2. Jesus, the backend of the WR depth chart seems more like the directory at the Fiji house. Paxton Anderson Thatcher Milton Parker Alford Hamilton McMartin
  3. Azov absolutely has its roots in the far right and it isn’t quite Ukraine Green Berets. When Russia started the war in Donbas in 2014 the UA army found itself on its back foot. Azov was one of a number of volunteer paramilitary units raised to fight Russian directed separatists. Original leaders were extremist types and soccer hooligans and the unit got a reputation for hard fighting. After the front stabilized and after a few years the Ukrainians moved to incorporate Azov into the Ukrainian National Guard as a regular unit. The most overtly political leaders shuffled out and the unit depoliticized for the most part. There were in the interim some pretty gross incidents against Roma and others. Todays Azov is still more nationalist than not, but the ugliest extremism is mostly gone and most of the members are not at all extremist. It’s a regiment now, and they aren’t special forces. The thing is, even with this past and origin- Azov as an organized armed group is a reaction to and result of Russian aggression. It never would have been more than your typical European soccer thug club if Russia hadn’t invaded. An honest accounting of Ukraine’s far right makes Russia look worse, not better.
  4. Don't think this one has made it here yet. Mike Eckel @Mike_Eckel · 14h just noticing this little Easter egg that was hidden at the end of the U.S. judge ruling last week ordering the seizure of Vekselberg's yacht. https://twitter.com/Mike_Eckel/status/1513491675376672779?s=20&t=HEHRflCMSEOM6hWf17QjjQ
  5. Serving Popeyes is just asking for an international incident. "Mr President, President Marcon ordered three spicy tenders and red beans and rice. His bag contains a mild 3 piece dark meat with fries and they forgot the biscuit...and his Dr Pepper is a root beer"

It’s been a serious, sometimes political debate whether a person from Taiwan should refer to themselves as Chinese from Taiwan, or Taiwanese. The current mood is to call our(?)selves Taiwanese. Frankly I’ve been so far removed that I don’t really care. I just want my parents to live out the rest of their lives in peace, without the constant reminder that China wants to “reunite” with Taiwan by force. This is just a long winded way of saying. FUCK Xi and FUCK China.
  7. Would like to believe this is the truth but I've seen what greed does to principles.
  8. Here's a little propaganda for you.
  9. Yup. Any political body that forcibly separates children from their families with no traceability and therefore no path to reunification is pretty fucking evil.
  10. Green Beignets is a great Zydeco band name
  11. 2021 under Shaka: and 2022 under Beard: Shaka Smart had three NBA players in his front court alone, and a senior, now-G League stud at PG. Chris Beard had zero NBA players. Shaka Smart had a deep, experienced, physically gifted roster. The players who weren't run off by Shaka were grossly misused and otherwise stunted by their head coach. Chris Beard had a total of five players actually good enough to play in the Big XII, none of whom will play in the NBA, and three of whom transferred into the program last summer. Chris Beard navigated them through the toughest league in America, beat the national champion, finished #15 in kenpom, and won a Tourney game for the first time since Rick Barnes was here. Chirs Beard produced a better offense, a better defense, and a much more consistent and all around better team in his hectic, fast-tracked, first year at Texas than Shaka did in his sixth year with his absolute dream roster. I know a lot of people both here and in real life who aren't yet understanding what Beard is doing, and who sadly can't see the job that he did this year for what it is: an unmitigated success. Chris Beard just took a team with no size, no athletes, and no shooters, not to mention a total lack of chemistry, all in their first year in his system, and he had a better season out of the gate than Shaka ever did in six years at Texas. You don't think we play into the second weekend and possibly beyond if we have Kai Jones, Jaxson Hayes, Mo Bamba, Matt Coleman, etc? Please. Chris Beard just showed the world that his floor is higher than Shaka's ceiling. Wait until he gets a chance to recruit his own guys to the 40 Acres year after year after year, in the Moody Center, where we will hopefully/realistically one day hang a national championship banner. Yeah. Get excited people. I know that this wasn't exactly the Showtime Lakers we watched last year, but make no mistake about it- Chris Beard is an elite tier coach, and for the first time since ~January 2010, this program legitimately has a chance to have success like it's never seen before. Can't wait. 🤘🏼
  12. And here's how bad it is: Do you know what an epic, catastrophic dumbfuck you have to be to end up in an argument with Sid Miller where SID MILLER is the one making sense?
  13. It's actually hilarious how you legitimately hurt inside anytime anything remotely positive is said about a QB you don't like. Seems like you cheer for the University of (insert player here) and not the University of Texas. I see you on IT all the time trying to get in fights with the mods and then you run over here trying to get clout and rub up against CTJ. Pretty sad.
  14. How are all three of these guys gone in the span of a year? Norm and Bob were like brothers. Gilbert often worked with Norm in standup and on his podcast. They were all pretty close. Just unreal.
  15. He put his cast iron pan in the dish washer
  16. Yeah, I bet Saban lets his players say anything they want to the media.
  17. It only took him a little more than a week to get there with a response.

At least I have a choice in headgear when putting the trash & recycle cans out on the curb... Think I’ll choose the one on the right.
  19. At times in my past I have not slept until Brooklyn.
  20. My son lives in Sunset Park in Brooklyn, and this is the train he uses to get to school. Thank goodness he hadn't left his apartment yet when this went down. He actually had to Uber to campus since the Metro was shut down.
  21. It’s well-written, but pack a lunch; it’s long. Penn State may be a longtime den of institutional degeneracy but I’m an Irv Pankey fan now.

I’m very enthused at the possibility of Mark Jackson no longer announcing NBA games.
  25. Here we have an actual, direct, linear connection between 1) supply chain being fucked and 2) action by a politician. Abbott is doing this, without any middleman -- fuck your trucks, fuck your supply chain. But who will the majority of Texas voters blame? Probably Hunter Biden or Hillary. Because we're the stupidest bunch of stupids to ever stupid.
  26. Neither did Gilbert, parallels are uncanny!

  28. i've done that twice for our big dogs...we live within half a mile of our vet and he and a vet tech came to the house. he also gave me a prescription for basically doggie valium for a couple days before for Cass as her vestibular disease really agitated her. speaking of... they called today and Maggie's ashes are back and i couldn't bring myself to go get them today. i can't stop weeping y'all. I sobbed for 10 minutes after they called and finally had to lay down. i've bawled more the past week over my mom's dog passing than i did my actual mom! wtf is wrong me. it was terrible and i feel awful and it hasn't gotten any better in a week. gotDAMMIT 💔💔💔💔
  29. This entire thread has devolved into absurdity. Does the guy improve the talent level of the roster? That’s the only question. If yes, you take him. If not, you pass. All of the other histrionics mean fuck all. Nobody is stunting the development of a summer enrollee freshman offensive lineman. I’d recommend taking this entire line of discussion to the Shit My Wife Says thread.
