  1. We aren’t playing Kent State….
  2. Told my dad (retired USAF) years ago that moving every 3 years + especially living in Turkey off base was one of the very best things about my youth. Exposure to different cultures and learning the world isn’t full of people like your corner of the US was foundational to me being a curious, tolerant person. My last two years of HS were in Burkburnett TX and I remember being stunned at the sheer backwoods viewpoints most of my classmates had. Their parents had often graduated together at that HS, gotten married and had kids that repeated the cycle. I get small town pride, but you only have yourself to blame in the Internet age for not being aware of the world around you. No one is saying you have to be a bleeding heart liberal, but you need to realize ‘your ways’ shouldn’t be forced on everyone else.
  3. And then again, it isn’t. Enjoy them while you can.
  4. Ha. Love this. Sorry if posted already but it’s sweet to see this. ECU, we play 9 full innings in playoff baseball.
  5. No, Mr Announcer, I was not wondering why the game didn't end when ECU tied it.
  6. I dropped a major F bomb in the Cancun airport when the bunt popped up in the air in the 9th inning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well , I'm not dead ya'll. Great win today! 1
  8. Stay at dinner until after tomorrow.
  9. mark it on your calendar, it’s one day only... January 6th.
  10. Shit, Florida is arguably not a true blue blood. But we’ve made it to the CWS 15 times, won 21 CWS games, made it to the Championship Series three times. We even won it once. Aggy? Fuck their history.
  11. It's honestly hard to remember all the times everyone said you were stupid.
  12. Actually it will be 38. We got 37 last year.
  13. Hongos isn't a slang term. It's just the Spanish word for mushrooms I'm interested to try a clinical treatment of psilocybin. Suffer from combat related PTSD that sometimes goes days with no issue but at any moment can trigger bad anxiety that feels like you're about to die. SSRIs do very little if anything and benzos for spot treatment work ok but just put me to sleep. Not useful when I need to function during the day and one hits.
  14. If you grew up playing football in Texas in the 80s, you began by playing smear the queer. It was an early indoctrination into homophobic tendencies. It’s also why the right is afraid of teaching history and tolerance in schools—they don’t want people to develop sympathy towards the oppressed and know how impressionable young minds are. Many grow up and on larger stages, go on to play smear the queer, smear the minorities, smear the liberals, smear the poor, smear the government that doesn’t support their oligarch agenda, smear religious tolerance and now smear the rule of law. I grew up Texan and I was a lot of things until college opened my eyes and introduced me to more than my small, mostly homogenous town views. I can definitely understand the Right’s campaign against logic and critical thought—it turns people off to their smear campaigns.
  15. How can he respond? He was literally just arrested in the back of a U-Haul
  16. I’d like to see a wine list.
  17. Hodo, Kennedy, and DC all went 3-5 today. That is how you win post-season games.
  18. This thread went from torches and pitchforks to burnt orange pride really fast 😂😂😂
  19. Win or lose tomorrow, that was an epic game. But let's win tomorrow.
  20. Announcer said ECU is home team tomorrow. That’s why their tying homer didn’t end the game. He said that. Idiot.
  21. "If you're wondering why that didn't end the game it's because it's the top of the inning" Uh...no, it's because regardless the game is tied you stupid fuck.
  22. OK. I superglued my pussy shut. No more bleeding in the thread. Let’s rip these fuckers’ hearts out and shove it up their collective ass.
  23. Don’t get your ass kicked and you won’t have to see it. Plus who fucking cares.
  24. Thanks @MillerEPfor keeping us up to date. Much appreciated and agonized over.
  25. The Russian transport and landing boat of project 02510 was destroyed.
  26. Last year, I got to hang w Casey Thompson and Micah Parsons. This summer, it was Quinn Ewers and DeMarvion Overshown. Both are super nice guys. DeMarion is so chill and Quinn is just relaxed and really approachable. He's taller than I thought he would be. I told him his game against our Chaps was one of the greatest performances I've seen a HS player make and he really appreciated it. And what is now becoming a tradition, lol, I got to play catch with him. He has such a nice, super-tight spiral and it sails out of his hand. He arrived in an awesome, throwback, heavy-metal shirt. Can't wait to see what he can do this fall. DeMarvion Overshown is a great guy. He looks like a model and I wouldn't be surprised if he did that after football. Man it was fun.
  27. There is belief by some that wishing ill upon the dead is in bad taste. That one’s crimes are extinguished with their last breath. In simple words, fuck all that. There are some crimes so heinous, so symbolic of treason, that no quarter of decency shall be given. The killing of Ashli Babbitt was not only necessary at the time, but will forever be symbolic in the history of the United States, and a warning to all, if you step out against Democracy, the only thing waiting for you is a bullet. You best recognize
  28. Now that I have calmed down a bit, I just want to say that was a fucking awesome game. I fucking love baseball and especially Texas Longhorns Baseball. I wasn't ready for the long offseason yet. So glad we got a game tomorrow.
  29. What's ECU's game 3 uni? A wife-beater?
  30. When I turned this game on, we were up 2-0 and then we immediately started imploding. Turned it off when we were down 6-2, because my bad luck was obviously the culprit and didn't watch any more. You're welcome.
  31. This game was so amazing, it brought @Bevoette back from the dead!
  32. My daughter got chosen for all stars in her 12U softball league. Crappy little small town league, but still made her (and my) night.
  33. Gonna share this, from one of my minions at work. He's a former combat medic and legit. ========= Hi team! For those of you who don't know me, I'm a DevOps Engineer here at [Company where Rimbo works with this guy]. In a former life, I was a former combat medic in the US Army. I have a battle-buddy (Kurtis Pasqualle) I served with from 2007-2009 in Ukraine who I have been working with as much as I can from here in the states. The operation we are running is Operation Cavell. The operation's mission is to provide medical support for the war effort in Ukraine. Phase one of the mission was to set up a field hospital and working evac teams. We've have accomplished that. Phase two has become us working with the Ukrainian government and the University of Kiev to stand up a combat medic school. I am mostly focused on helping with curriculum and materials. The other piece of what I am doing is fundraising. Below you will find a link to a gofundme. We are still in need of funds for medical supplies, transport, and protective gear (armor and helmets). If you could take some time out of your day and either donate to the gofundme or blast the link out to your networks it would be deeply appreciated, and it would contribute directly to saving lives in Ukraine. If you are interested, I have attached a news article written about this operation as well as some pics from ongoing trainings. There is also a wikipedia link for Edith Cavell (a true bad-ass) who this operation is named for and who embodies the spirit of what we are trying to do. ""I can't stop while there are lives to be saved." - Edith Cavell https://www.gofundme.com/f/operation-cavell https://www.einnews.com/amp/pr_news/571186237/military-veterans-begin-gofundme-campa[…]IwAR3vhai1rHB5bEUHfYSQN5sH8Xa7648q28yuD5XiqzWYHYKD-mZ35T3pdcw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edith_Cavell (edited)
  34. Greg Abbott puts his pants on with one humiliating and degrading motion like you're shaking a pillow into a case and then he has to be rolled to one side to have everything buttoned and zipped and then have his legs placed back into a more visually suitable and natural position just like the rest of us.
