I don't give a shit. Permaban me. That's the most unacceptable fucking loss I've ever fucking seen from this football team. Find the right guy. I don't know who it is but it isn't this chode. Losing the fanbase 4 fucking games into your 2nd season has to be some sort of record. That's the most embarrassing fucking loss I've ever seen in my God damn life.
  3. Give credit to Card. Dude saved us on that series.
  4. I agree the mobilization has to be taken seriously, but I think the only (and best) use of these mobilized troops warm bodies will be throwing them into Crimea and maybe Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia (assuming Donetsk isn't compromised by the time they make it to the front). I think Luhansk is a lost cause at this point as Ukraine will be putting more and more rail in that oblast under artillery range, unless they are willing to march them into Luhansk from the east/south. The problem is that they'll be spotted long before they get near enough to do something. Regardless of how the mobilized troops act in combat, Russia has some serious issues that will cripple their ability to even get them into combat, or limit where they will see combat: Crimea: Crimea is the crown jewel, and everything Russia does has to be weighed in terms of whether it safeguards Crimea. I would argue that the mobilization is in part because Putin is afraid Ukraine could get into Crimea. Russia occupying Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia is about protecting Crimea with a land bridge. Opening a front in the north, in theory could pull Ukrainian troops away, but opening such a front reduces the ability to resupply/reinforce Crimea. Artillery: Back in February when the Russians began moving into the northern Ukraine, the Ukrainians didn't have hyper-accurate NATO artillery (from M777s to HIMARS and everything in between) to counter the Russians, and they didn't have the experienced and well-trained troops manning that artillery that they do now. Every week, the Ukrainians are getting more new artillery and ammo, and they have more and more soldiers who are finishing their training on that artillery. The Ukrainians now have the artillery capacity and capability to disrupt Russian logistics and troop movements at long distances. Think about what Ukraine was able to do in terms of defending Kyiv with what they had in February and March, and that pales in comparison to what they have now. Because Ukraine has great interior lines and very mobile artillery, they can move up artillery fast to deal with any breakout problems. Logistics: Russians have lost thousands of trucks/personnel carriers that they can't replace (due to sanctions), which really limits their movement of troops in terms of getting them the last 30-40 kms. Ukraine is in the process of putting all of Russia's logistic rail hubs in the northeast under artillery coverage. That means that for an attack in the northeast, Russia would have to bring in heavy equipment/masses of troops/supplies from the more southerly logistics hubs, and those hubs are already strained (due to having to take in logistics traffic that would normally have flowed from the northern hubs). And they've got to move it from those southern/eastern hubs with trucks and personnel carriers that they are running low on. An attack from the north (Belarus) would rely on masses of trucks/personnel carriers they don't have or can't easily spare from the south. Russian Air Force/Missiles: They are acting like they are on a quota, and just popping off a few dozen missiles a day at civilian targets - this kind of makes me think Putin is in charge of targets, because it's a waste of irreplaceable missiles that should be aiding his military and hitting Ukrainian military targets. Their Air Force seems to be gunshy as well, versus early on in the war. Ukraine keeps chipping away at their air defenses like nobody's business. Reserves: If Russia attacked from say Belarus, Ukraine has hundreds of thousands of soldiers in their territorial defenses in the rear areas that have been training for months and are better-trained and equipped than the mobilized Russians, that could be moved up quickly because of great interior lines of movement (not to mention the Ukrainian Air Force would come into play). Ukraine could call Putin's bluff and stick with using their regular troops against Kherson/Donetsk/Crimea and leave those mobilized Russian troops to Ukraine's better-trained territorial defenses and Air Force. Putin is then dealing with the fact that he has scarce logistics resources and warm bodies tied up in the north that he would need in south. The mobilized Russians became a liability/drain on defending Crimea, because they've sucked away vehicles that are needed to help with Crimea. Officers/NCOs: Russia has around 1,200 officers that have been confirmed killed. This includes dozens of battalions and hundreds of companies/batteries losing their commanding officers, and we already know they have battalions and companies that are not only understaffed, but are being led by officers that are a pay grade or two down from what the position normally requires, so the regular Russian army already has a problem with officers/NCOs. And 1,200 dead officers probably means thousands of dead NCOs. If they strip the regular army of experienced officers/NCOs to lead the mobilized Russians, they've fucked over the regular army. If they leave those mobilized troops to being led by mobilized officers and NCOs, they've fucked those mobilized troops. Heavier Units (Armor): Russia clearly doesn't have the modern armored vehicles (tanks or IFVs/APCs) to supply any large formations that are being wished into existence, otherwise they wouldn't be pulling out old T-62 and T-72s. That means masses of infantry. They would need months to get mobilized troops up to speed on fighting with those vehicles anyways. Putin is a gambler though, which is really bad for somebody in his situation. Sorry for the manifesto, waiting on the game. TLDR: Yes, they have to take it seriously, but Russia is very confined on where they can use these troops.
  5. 1st half thoughts...... Fuck Judge Fuck these announcers Fuck Tech Bijan fucks Jwhitt fucks D is finally fucking OL definitely is starting to fuck Sark's play calling fucks And you guessed it, fuck blowU
  6. I wanted to offer an apology to this thread, @closetojumping, and @SydneyCarton. I realize I gave my opinions as a passionate, but casual, fan to guys directly in the weeds with the current recruiting situation and administration, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a homerun. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. I don't know if I'll be putting on this headset again. Whether that be for the Reds or my bosses at FOX.
  7. God damn it, this game wasn’t on Card. The defense gave up 34 points in regulation because we played soft. Bijan getting hit at the line of scrimmage had nothing to do with Card. He hit Whittington on an important play and it was dropped. He’s not perfect but damn, he’s far down the list of why this team lost.

Running that idiotic Wildcat on 4th and 3 is where the game turned. I still can’t get over that call

Someone should bump the thread when Sark was hired. The reaction was about like the new sheriff scene in blazing saddles. Our initial instinct was correct. Everything since has been scratching our balls waiting for the inevitable.
  11. I tend to fall in line with this thinking. As I’ve posted, I want to see what Russia does with these forces. At this point we need to realize that Russia’s professional military is seriously degraded. As Russia shifts to a strategy of «нас много» these new bodies are going to be even less capable of carrying out combined arms offenses needed to take and hold territory where the Ukrainians are. But flooding the small provinces in the east and south with even third tier troops is going to present a serious difficultly for Ukraine if Russia decides to shift to the defensive. And there’s every indication that Russia is going to do that, and we cannot forget that Ukraine is a smaller nation that has suffered terrible losses in this war despite their magnificent effort on the battlefield. We are not appreciating what a shit sandwich Putin is creating with these referendums. Annexing these territories and calling them “Russian Federation” binds the hands of any potential successor in a way that recognizing republics does not. Anyone now who wants to end this war has to tell the Russian people that they are giving back part of Russia to Ukraine. Even if Ukraine manages to win on the battlefield, it is hard to see anyone on the horizon in Russia who would ever recognize that reality, dooming both nations to not just poor relations but at the VERY BEST a frozen state of war. Putin’s gamble here is to build his own steel cage around the conflict, swallow the key, and announce that he’s fighting Ukraine to the death. That’s unfortunate, but it’s what he’s chosen, he has had every chance to take off-ramps and he has chosen to escalate each time. So it’s time to kill the bear.
  12. Not sure why this is even a discussion theres literally records on it. Bob Hayes set a world record in the 100m and still has the fastest leg in the history of the 4x100, faster than Usain Bolts.
  13. I can handle the loss... But I hate how it fucks up the rest of my College Football watching experience because every other game inevitebly fills downtime with updates that Texas lost, halftime highlights show Texas lost, all forcing me to relive the experience for the rest of the day/week. Until we do it again next weekend. It's like a nightmare.
  14. PK should be fired before the plane starts its engines. To continue to rush 3 when the QB couldn't handle pressure is a gross dereliction of duty. Fuck that pussy.
  15. 11 points
PK should be fired tonight BEFORE they leave Lubbock. It was blatantly obvious that the Tech QB could not handle pressure and he repeatedly would not bring it. That is a gross dereliction of duty and should merit a "get the fuck out you overpriced SOB" before the plane even starts its engines.

What did people think when we hired him? He's a fucking loser head coach. Always has been and always will. Did people really believe in hype because he was in Bamas staff? That talent factory runs itself. He did nothing there except blend in. The mediocre train will be looking for a new head coach soon. Yay.

I'll explain clearly: you need to stop drinking. You have zero ability to suss shades of gray. You can't handle complicated problems. You let yourself get wrapped around the axle over individual data points without the ability to look at the bigger picture. In short, you are a lower-intellect, embarassing example of what a UT education could represent, and I can only hope I'm wrong about the UT education part. Fuck off. Dry out. Rethink your life choices.

  22. I'm a Texas and Dallas fan. Weekends have been trash for a long time now. Both are the same teams. Soft and shitty coaching. Nothing but brands that gets ratings but empty results on the field. I don't give a shit anymore for either.
  23. Helm was wide the fuck open, card fucking blows.
  24. according to surly the worst half of football in Texas history, and here we are up 10
  25. That top pic has been debunked, I think it was taken sometime in 2020, not that kit isn’t an issue. The Russian Air Force is getting WRECKT. Watching what was believed to be a preeminent air power just fall out of the sky. This ain’t WWII, those plants aren’t rolling new Sukhois off to backfill.

  32. I’m very late to the party, but I think the primary reason that guy hates Texas so much (among many others) is because I’m pretty sure he was the VTM mod making irrationally bold statements about how Beard would absolutely never leave tech for his alma mater. I’m paraphrasing here but he intimated that Beard would never in a million years leave because he was a living legend in Lubbock, and he had everything he needed right there courtesy of other local hero, Dusty Womble..Plus, it would certainly take an ungodly sum of money, and even then, he would definitely give good pal, Kirby Hocutt, a chance to match or counter. Dude spent the week leading up to Beard’s move taunting and ridiculing Texas fans as totally delusional, extolling the virtues of how loyal and committed Beard was to the program despite persistent reminders that he had bolted from UNLV literally as soon as a better opportunity arose and that there was a damn good reason his contract included a poison pill specifically meant to deter Texas from poaching him.. A poignant quote from that week (emphasis mine): ”Lastly, this is Chris Beard’s home. His family is here, he bleeds Lubbock, and he is a man who has embraced this university as his own. Anybody who thinks he sees Austin as more suited to him is insane.” ..and then it all blew up in his face—Beard was leaving, the difference in salary was negligible, a matching offer was irrelevant, and he had no interest in allowing good pal Kirby an opportunity to counter. It was over. The deal was done..consummated over an Egg McMuffin in Levelland or some shit with his new pal, CDC. The man’s pride suffered a catastrophic injury that day, yet no one was willing to let that dumb fuck forget how galactically stupid his takes were. Since then, he has been writing self-soothing soliloquies like his latest missive referencing PUF and other bullshit trying to convince himself more than anyone else that Texas (and athletic director CDC (btw, how pathetic is that?)) is evil incarnate and tech (and/or Lubbock) doesn’t suck. Frankly, I’m totally cool with this yutz and his ilk believing Texas is evil and its fans are arrogant pricks. Are longhorns supposed to be aghast at the assertion? He must not realize aggies have been proselytizing that shit for over a century. Get in line, bro. The pity party is already near capacity. Almost no Texas fan in the universe is going to be the least bit moved when you mercifully become untethered and have to get the fuck along on your own, but it is nice that you are finally getting there. Congrats, little baby, you’re all growns up! tl;dr tech fucking sucks & I’m the asshole

That's 30 passes for your backup quarterback. And 16 rushes for your fucking Heisman candidate running back. And most of those rushes were between the tackles where we have dogshit interior linemen. And Bijan still averaged 6.3 ypc. But fuck it, throw some more passes, Coach. God fucking dammit, these are the dumbest two numbers I think I've ever seen. 30 and 16.
  34. Card is also hurt. Not saying he is the answer at QB...but he has clear issues with his footwork and the passes he's trying to make. Our OL allowing the stopping our run game back where the handoff in the shotgun is made is a giant problem, no matter the footwork of any QB. That wildcat is so nonsensical on so many levels in the first place if he never passes it - but - to not only line up in a shotgun with it., and then telegraph it, and THEN to then try some bullshit 'delay, read something ' bullshit with it completely emasculates any effectiveness it might ever have had, which was little in the first place. If Ewers is hurt, 'dressing him out' to take a flight to Lubbock is some JV level 'trickery' and continuing to play an injured Card or that Wildcat Bull shit is pretty fucking infuriating. . This game was lost when the Tech QB was finally hit and fumbled, but out efforted our entire DL to recover his own fumble to actually gain yardage on that play, which of course, led to a converted fourth down and the rest of it. We can't let a guy complete his first fourteen passes in a row. After he completes his first seven, you call fucking time out and realize that your 'film study bullshit' has to be completely scrapped and we need to do something else or this mother fucker is going to do this all afternoon.....which, is of course, exactly what happened.
  35. Four Aircraft shot down. Not only is that a lot of wasted rubles, there is little or no chance of replacing those aircraft before the conflict is over. Fighting Russians when Russians have no air superiority - and are shitty at coordinating combined arms - is a hell of a lot different than fighting Russians when their bombers and support aircraft are constantly attacking your troops. Every time the orcs dip their toe into Ukrainian air space they lose aircraft. It seems to me that this is one of the most impactful aspects of the war so far, and the one that gives me hope.
  36. Fuck your tortillas sand aggy. Texas wins big on it's farewell tour.
