There's no rollercoaster. A rollercoaster would imply that something was going to happen, and then it wasn't, and then something new was happening, and then it wasn't, etc. Nothing has happened here, except Nahlin has overreported on the search from the beginning. It's pathological. He needs the attention and needs to be "breaking" something, much like his clown arch villain, Geoff Ketchum. Those two guys are like binary mouthbreathing pulsars, constantly dueling and repelling in a circle of perverted incompetence always trying to seem first and informed.
This is a quagmire.
Burton has hedged this whole time because there was never anything firm with Wright and other conversations have continued with other guys. He has actual insight due to legitimate relationships. Nahlin used to have some contacts with other staffs that were reliable. At this point, I don't think he's gotten a single thing right that didn't either come from parroting shit from a private group or fast-following other people with real takes. It's eerily familiar ... it looks like the Typsy Gypsy rises again from the landfill ashes of Recruitocosm, like a deformed and bastardized phoenix.
