SOME NOTES FROM GERRY, + RESPONSES TO COMMENTS ABOVE
- Gerry: Nobody pushed Jackson Christian - football/academics fell in line, so he committed
GERRY: OL RECRUITS / POSITIONAL FIT
- Jackson Christian: IOL
- Devin Coleman: Center / guard. Best fit long term is center.
- John Mills / Jordan Coleman: Swing tackle/guard. If both end up in the class, one could play right tackle, the other, guard. Both would be tremendous guard prospects.
- Fasusi and Rogers: True tackle takes
- Nick Brooks: Right tackle
- Tyler Thomas: IOL / guard
GERRY: HYPOTHETICAL TEXAS OL CLASS
1 guard
2 swing guard/right tackle types
2 pure tackles
Center (Devin Coleman)
Tyler Thomas in the picture as well
- Golden Triangle - important recruiting area
Ohio State now has commitments from:
- Devin Sanchez (#1 corner, #5 overall)
- Na'eem Offord (#2 corner, #6 overall)
- Blake Woodby (#7 corner, #66 overall)
Likely had an influence on Brew's decision to hold off on committing to Ohio State (at least for now).
A day or so ago, Jerry had said Texas was ready to accept their commitments right now, and that we led for them. (By right now, he made it sound like we were certain we wanted them, and not that their spots were at risk ... ). His breakdown above also explains how he sees them fitting in, with Christian and others.
(On a very different note ... few things in life piss me off as much as instances when I write a note, look at adding some quotes, etc., and the editor barfs and deletes the note. Nothing other than a ritual sacrifice w/ disembowelment would pacify me ... whom would you offer up? BO&W, I'm guessing? Win/win? Let me know. Kthxbye.)
