  1. Moore’s camp has told Bobby Burton that Trey Moore is returning to Texas. Nothing set in stone, but that would be a big deal, IMO.
  2. People are overblowing Muhammads struggles imo

    Blue declaring for the draft.
  4. Draft declarations have begun.
  5. If Andrew Mukuba was a liability in coverage, I would like more such liabilites. jmo
  6. I don't understand this board's fascination with comparing Quinn to "an NFL QB" when there are 32 different QBs all with varying levels of accuracy. At least 10 starting NFL QBs right now don't do the things you are talking about. And they are starting in the NFL. Hell, #1 pick / Heisman trophy winner Caleb Williams, I've seen him miss the fade throws out of bounds again and again and again this year, not "hit (WR) without him having to leave his feet". Like most rookie QBs he has really bad plays and some outstanding plays. Now, yes, GOOD NFL QBs make those throws, but, spoiler alert, veteran QBs are generally better than younger QBs. Quinn is a college Junior/Senior and a lot of people on this board expect him to have the consistency of a 7 year NFL veteran. Next year, Quinn will be a rookie NFL QB and there is a huge difference between rookie QBs and even a 5 year veteran. Heck, just look at Sam Darnold now compared to when he was a rookie. He definitely had some bad plays, but picking to criticize a difficult completion to Golden down the sideline and a pass that hit our most expensive WR in the hands is WILD to me.
  7. Moore likely got a mixed draft response between 5th round projections all the way over to UFA. One more year of $250k-$400k and a chance to improve that outlook is better than a stick in the eye.
  8. JFC. This board is going to lose their minds when Arch inevitably throws 3 picks in a game next year. Anything less than a heisman is going to be unacceptable the way you all have built Arch up in your minds.
  9. Fuck James Woods, people put out by asl interpreters, and the First Felon of the United States.
  10. Our lost players are always irreplaceable (despite being overrated all season). Their replacements are always a step up. And their returning starters always improve. It’s been this way since time immemorial. Clickety clack.
  11. He had one of the most productive seasons ever for a freshman receiver at Texas and Quinn Ewers isn’t the one throwing him passes moving forward. This is a stupid thought.
  12. If you think other team's fans hate us now just wait till a Manning is our starter. It's going to be great.
  13. As a general rule, I don’t have ill will towards any Longhorns as long as they represent The University well. Be it Chris Simms or Blake Gideon or Garrett Gilbert or Bert Auburn. Quinn Ewers falls in that group. I appreciate the things he did well but he was also extremely frustrating to watch as a player. The recruiting rankings and hype were extremely high, even had Heisman talk going into this year, and in the end we saw QB play more similar to Simms or Ehlinger than we did Colt. When we had Colt and the game was on the line, I always felt he had it in him to make the critical pass and keep the game alive. Watching Quinn, I never felt that way. There were obviously many highlights like 4th and 13 against ASU where he made a clutch play to help win a tight game. There were also many missed opportunities like an overthrow to a wide open Golden on 3rd and 5 when we were trying to take the lead in the 4th quarter. Sark botched the playcalling at 1st and goal, but prior to that, there were plenty of other plays in the game that simply weren’t made, and I think an elite QB needs to be able to do that. I also think our offensive playbook was somewhat limited this year because of Quinn’s highly inconsistent deep ball and his inability to scramble away from a collapsing pocket. I usually don’t concern myself with off the field issues, but I do follow several Longhorns on IG and I was not a fan of our starting QB making political posts in the middle of the football season. When that was going at the same time we were watching on-field struggles post injury, Quinn alienated me a little bit as a fan. He was a drastic improvement from wandering in the desert with Case, Thompson, Buechele, Swoopes, etc, but those guys also had a much less talented team around them and far worse coaching from Strong and Herman. So I’m happy that Quinn played a role in returning Texas to prominence, and he was good enough to allow this upward trajectory to occur, but I think Texas needs better in order to win an actual championship. Hopefully Arch is the guy. Good luck to Quinn in whatever he does next.

While I know golden was prob one of the best portal pick ups. But my mvp portal pick up goes to makuba. We were an absolute liability in the secondary for years. He’s transformed the whole back end. Hit like a missile. Coverage was good. A leader. A dog. A pipe hitter that wanted to inflict pain and his presence rubbed off on others. Comparing the 2 is like choosing a Ferrari or a lambo. But while offense wins games defense is what took us to where we were this year and we need a 2025 makuba somwhere. I also hope he goes high in the draft get that money makuba
  15. Results of the game sucked but the dino beef ribs we had for the Cotton Bowl game were tasty to quite tasty
  16. I’m just not in the mood to read dumb shit from football board posters right now. Stanning for Bond, who was a fucking shitbag with the team late this year, is too much. So I negged all of your idiotic apologism for him. Go back to the football board before it becomes more than a lark. I’ve seen you post a number of terrible football takes this year and it needs to end, dummy.
  17. It's not simply about the words themselves. For the Deaf, seeing the anthem signed is a form of poetry. They're not there simply interpreting the anthem word-for-word. If you know sign language, you see the use of symbolic signs, rather than a bunch of fingerspelling and precise interpretation. ASL is a visual language that the Deaf and signers artfully play with. Imagine the anthem without music and just a dry recitation of the lyrics.

He seems smart. He knew you’d share with all your closest friends on the internet
  19. I think we were all shocked when Jevon Snead showed up and he was white.
  20. I think you are really underselling Mukuba. He was nails all year long, and the few times Williams has actually been healthy he’s not been near that impactful IMO. Big offseason for him
  21. Texas is currently the favorite to win the national championship in 25, much like Ohio state was after the draft and portal wins they had last year around this time. let’s hope that come February 1 the oddsmakers still have us #1 to win it. I’d obviously bet field in any endeavor like this, but as of today I can’t see any other team that has the same quality of roster we have, and I’d guess it gets better after portal one and portal 2 wrap up. Heady times right now friends. Enjoy.
  22. I met a kind lady at the SEC Championship. We were seated together, as we'd both gotten our tickets through the Longhorn Foundation. We got to chatting, and exchanged contact info. I always take button with my father's face (my dad passed away in 2023) to games to continue our "tradition" of going to/watching games together. She noticed, and we talked about him. I attended the Peach Bowl, and was pleased we were once again seated together. I had to coach her through the game (lol), and explain our path to victory against Arizona State. She took the photos of me sobbing after. 😂 Neither of us got tickets through LHF for the Cotton Bowl, but were obviously going to find a way to attend anyway. She asked if i had any pictures of Daddy and me....I didn't think anything of it. She asked where I was sitting. And brought me this. The day before his birthday. So he could see better. 🥹 It was so nice for a moment to not have to be the "strong and resilient" one who takes care of every one else and just be the girl who misses her Daddy. To receive comfort without expectation of something in return. There IS still kindness in the world. There ARE still good people out there. And I'm so grateful to her for this beautiful gesture. 💙🤘🏾
  23. What an absurd thing to get butthurt about. It continues to amaze me that the people who have spent a decade or more throwing out the "snowflake" pejorative are far and away the bigger snowflakes.
  24. The Engels air base in Saratov, Russia, is still burning, 4 days after it was struck by multiple Ukrainian UAVs. According to sources of the Telegram channel Cheka-OGPU, three tanks of 120,000 cubic meters each were completely destroyed by fire, and six more were seriously damaged. The tank facility, which stored fuel for the military airfield, about 800,000 tons of fuel, was put out of action. „Currently, the Russian Emergency Ministry has an acute shortage of foaming agent for extinguishing burning oil and fuel. Firefighters are now forced, as they say, to accompany fires at oil depots and monitor the fuel burnout.“
  25. It would be foolish for him to stay. If Baxter is healthy, he’s going to be RB 3 next year. He just had 4 TDs in the last 2 play off games. He should go now, hope he gets drafted in the mid to late rounds and try to make a roster. He can’t run inside the tackles, fumbles, and isn’t the best pass protector. His stock isn’t going to get any higher staying at Texas.
  26. Arch 2 year clock starts now. Gotta go for it.
  27. Quinn got made a fool again in the RZ with yet another fumble return for a TD, but because we “don’t know football” calling out Quinn on this thread is equivalent to saying rape victims deserved it for how they were dressed. You need to step back and take a look in the mirror because you and all your pro-Quinn bullshit is taking things too far. Get some help dude, seriously. You might need a Derka time out for the things you just said.
  28. Jesus. He may actually be the stupidest man alive. I’m not kidding, because the Dunning Kruger is off the charts for him. I mean…wind conditions alone (Texas doesn’t get 80 mph Santa Anna winds down canyons and slopes filled with homes) show him to be a complete fucking idiot. He falls for anything that fits his increasingly deranged worldview. That’s it, that’s the extent of his intellectual inquiry.
  29. You can blame Sark for the 2nd down call or Cam Williams for the missed block, but the fact remains we are 0 for 8 in trying to score a TD inside the opponent's red area in two semifinals. The blame must go to both the playcaller and the QB in addition to evey other role players who missed their assignments.

  34. My wife finally heard back from her last boss that moved to the area. They had been in NYC for all their lives, but picked up and moved for a last ditch effort to have a child. They had been to all the major IVF places and failed. They moved there and finally got pregnant. Due in two weeks. They lost everything yesterday. He sent a video and it looks like a bomb was dropped on his house and then someone lit it on fire. He was on a flight and she was at work when it happened. Dogs and cat are scorched. All those baby clothes and accoutrements are lost. Devastating thing for people that have suffered for over a decade to have a child.
  35. Just wanted to say Thank You for getting to live vicariously through yall. Pokes season inexplicably went to crusty ass and I followed ya’ll more closely than normal…to the point I ate the insane ticket prices and screamed my heart out last night. Even bought my first new UT gear in ages…an “I’m Horny” longhorns shirt. Dude, I’m heart broken. We had shitty upper level seats right above the far corner of the end zone from where QE gave up the sack fumble. Right up until that moment I was confident they were going to pull it out, and when the tOSU side started going ballistic I had to get out of there…I was fuckin INVESTED. Was a great ride, so glad ya’ll are back to national prominence. You have the highest Good Fan :: Douchebag ratio of any of the blue bloods, finally have a coach, and despite never really having a solid 60 minute game…almost played for a natty. No consolation to ya’ll, but in the NFL-lite era, and with OK State never being a part of the Big Boys Club…I’m ecstatic to see you guys standing toe-to-toe with the assholes of the world.
  36. This is much bigger than state government, regardless of how the American right wants to spin it. This is a direct result of climate change. Shit is burning because droughts are deeper and average temperatures are higher, among other things. Rapidly dealing with a situation like this would require an investment far beyond what any government is willing to spend, yet the politicos still want to point fingers.
  37. Bolverk with the thread jack…
  38. Very much appreciate the thought, bro, but y'all keep those guys closer to home and on standby.
  39. Here’s the latest on the fires. Firefighters racing against the arrival of more desert winds made progress on Sunday against the two biggest fires raging in Los Angeles, which have killed at least 16 people and destroyed entire neighborhoods from the inland hills to the Pacific Coast. At least 16 other people have been reported missing in the area of the two largest fires, Sheriff Robert Luna of Los Angeles County said at a news conference, adding that he expected that number would “absolutely” rise. Crews managed to contain more of the Eaton fire as of Sunday morning, and they had largely stopped the Palisades fire’s momentum toward a road of homes in a section of the Brentwood neighborhood. Forecasters expected a brief reprieve from the wind on Sunday afternoon, but the kind of gusty desert winds that have propelled the fires were expected to return on Monday through Wednesday, keeping the fire risk in the area high. Here’s what else to know: Slow progress: Crews have contained 11 percent of the 23,700-acre Palisades fire and 27 percent of the 14,000-acre Eaton fire in the San Gabriel Mountains, according to Cal Fire. More than 100,000 residents are still under evacuation orders, and tens of thousands more have been warned they may have to evacuate. High winds: The National Weather Service reported wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour on Sunday morning in parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, combined with low humidity. Here’s the forecast. Scale of destruction: The combined area burned by the past week’s fires is larger than each of the city limits of San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Boston or Miami. Together, the Eaton and Palisades fires have damaged more than 12,000 “structures,” which can refer to houses, but also cars and outbuildings. The victims: The identities of more people who died in the blazes have been released. Read more about them. Arrests: Robert Luna, the Los Angeles sheriff, said that 25 people were arrested in the area of the Eaton fire, and four near the Palisades. One man was dressed like a firefighter and had been burglarizing a home, he said.

  41. Ukraine fucking with St. Petersburg again. All those flights to the east are diverting. This fucker was on final. A bit later. All those flights are diverting to other points. Like Moscow. That is a lot of wasted flight hours and fuel.
