  1. Leopards continue gnawing on my parents face. Nearly 3 weeks after I told them they need to look in the mirror before continuing our relationship, my dad reached out with a mundane question about the boys, while my mother sent my wife an over-the-top praiseful message about being a good mom, etc. I responded that nothing had changed in the last few weeks, and tacked on an article about the NPS being dismantled and how I would be lucky to take my kids to the national parks like my parents took me. My father responded that they were very saddened by the degradation of our relationship and that mother couldn't even send a loving message without being chastised for it. I let him know they could make me out to be a jerk all they wanted and that loving one another isn't the issue. I am still ready to talk when they want to have a real, albeit uncomfortable discussion about how we got to this point. Pardon me for sharing all this, but I find it somewhat cathartic.
  2. Bo Davis is leaving LSU to coach DL for the Saints.
  3. I got my haircut today by my longtime barber. He is a Vietnamese refugee who became a citizen in the 70s. He is a huge Trumper, a non-critical thinker, but watches his Fox and OAN and considers himself extremely politically astute. He will never vote for the Democrats because they are “close to being communist, and he knows all about communist from his time living in Vietnam”, don’t you know…. We’ve had a truce for some time where we don’t really get into politics. Today he wanted to talk about DOGE, and why it was good to eliminate the fraud. I told him the fraud was a lie, they just wanted to get rid of anyone who could stop Trump from implementing his project 25 plans. He then switched to how terrible it is that people don’t get along because of politics. Because he wouldn’t drop it, I told him it is no longer politics. We are no longer fighting about trickle down economics, or fighting about Middle East policy. We have a pathological, liar, felon, rapist, con man - supported by white supremacists - who is destroying the efficiency and fabric of American government to an extent that can’t be cured if we ever get a Democrat back in. He told me it was “ silly for politics to interfere with friends and family”. At that point I’ve had enough and told him I no longer have anything to do with Republicans who voted for Trump in 2024, because they are fake Christians and false patriots who are actually traitors- and although I wish the upcoming American pain could be confined to people who voted for Trump, I am looking forward to lots of pain in rural and stupid GOP strongholds. At this point, he was getting pissed at me, and said that I was brainwashed. He doesn’t make much at his hair cutting, and his federal employee wife is the big breadwinner in the family. He then told me his wife had to give five reasons why she should be retained, and she gave 15 so she would be kept. I laughed and said she’s gonna be fired anyway, and told him to call up Trump on the line when she gets fired and explain why that was wrong. Whelp, I was advised that I need a new barber.
  4. Probably shouldn't have voted for a rapist then for president, Abby.
  5. Hi Abby, let me show you to the leopard enclosure.
  6. He deserves to lose his job for using that font
  7. Sheesh Sydir ran the guy out of two top tier jobs
  8. My wife had a liver transplant on 12/29. It's remarkable how well she is doing today. We are very lucky. Her doctors are amazed at how far she's come in recovery. They do say that barring anything out of the blue, she should have a full recovery in another 6-8 months and live a normal life. But Hookem is correct, pre transplant she was incredibly sick.
  9. I wish leopards would eat the faces of the next person who discusses gerrymandering on this thread. JFC, we have other threads.
  10. I think it might be that he actually believes that political parties represent all voter interests accurately. That because he allows national GOP leaders to tell him what is important and changes his values almost daily to match, he thinks that everyone does that or, even worse, that everyone should do that. It's the awful endpoint of treating politics like team sports.
  11. Trump probably wants Tate to head his Department of Sex Education (DOSE).
  12. Gretzky is Canadian, a formerly beloved Canadian icon. He is also full-on orange-dick-sucking team Trump. Trump. The guy who shits all over Canada, says we should conquer it, make it the 51st state, etc. Being buddies with someone who shits all over your country is a great way to make the people in your country hate you, because you're a fucking traitor piece of shit.
  13. This should be a radicalization, line-in-the-sand moment for any of the people who have been yelling about child trafficking for the last few years. The fact that we all know it won't be is such a glaring admission about how that "movement" is rooted purely in partisan politics and not a genuine desire to address the issue.

When asked by a reporter whether he still believed Zelensky was a dictator, Trump responded: “Did I say that? I can’t believe I said that. Next question.” https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5167646-trump-zelensky-dictator/
  15. At the very least he had competent people running things. RFK, Patel, Hegseth? We’re fucked

  18. That moment you lose your job at the VA and realize that your wife opening an Only Fans account will do nothing to solve your economic woes.
  19. Wage war on the American people, some of 'em are gonna fight back. Shit happens. I'd much prefer a world where a billionaire wasn't actively tearing down the Republic and gleefully celebrating destroying individual people's lives, AND people weren't targeting one of his sources of wealth for violence. That would be great. But this is ripped from the pages of "Don't Start no Shit, Won't be no Shit" Monthly.

Everyone needs to understand that Annie posts are just chaff. He floods the zone with decoy arguments to distract from real issues and derail legitimate discussion. And he’s done this for fucking years on this site. Stop taking the bait. Put him on ignore.

I gave up on Ana and put him on ignore a few weeks ago. The rest of y’all should as well. Sad really

The flu vaccine failed? Fucking news to me. Are you completely braindead?
  25. I’m not trying to trivialize your situation with the kiddos in my next comment, but you should get your parents hooked on an addicting game like Candy Crush or King’s Match. I noticed my parents stopped being on social media so much because they got addicted to Candy Crush and that’s all they seem to want to talk about now. The time they would spend on Facebook or Twitter feeding misinformation into their minds has been replaced by hours of Candy Crushing. My mom was so hooked she stopped talking about Trump so I wouldn’t get annoyed and I would be more likely to send her free lives so she can keep playing. It sounds stupid but its remarkable how much less they ramble because they only want to play Candy Crush now like it’s their new obsession.

The fucking Tate thing is infuriating. The new face of America, pushing to have rapists and sex traffickers escape accountability because their audience is MAGA. What a disgusting, repulsive image to present to the world. I want to think that this would embarrass people who voted MAGA but I know it won’t. The libs don’t like rape, so rape is now MAGA-adjacent.
  29. This will never get old:

  32. The whole problem with your premise is, we do not vote for parties in this country. We vote for candidates. When you are hopelessly gerrymandered, you get de facto voting for parties.
