really? really?? you mean the same guy that threw out the pandemic handbook the prior admin left them to deal with exactly what they faced and we're supposed to not blame for shit like a historically bad stock market? it absolutely mattered who was in the oval office and he fucked it up colossally and literally millions of people died. I was there. so were you

I also recall that in early January 2020, Xi had warned him in a phone call that it would be a monster. And to further 68's point, here's a timeline of Mr. It-Will-Magically-Disappear-By-Easter’s bullshit, leading up to that first precipitous drop in the market: May 2018 The Trump Administration disbands the White House pandemic response team. July 2019 The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency left the post, and the Trump Administration eliminated the role. Oct. 2019 “Currently, there are insufficient funding sources designated for the federal government to use in response to a severe influenza pandemic.” Jan. 22, 2020 “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be just fine.” Jan. 24, 2020 Trump praises China’s handling of the coronavirus: “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!” Jan. 28, 2020 “This will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency...This is going to be the roughest thing you face." Trump’s National Security Advisor says to Trump. Jan. 30, 2020 "The lack of immune protection or an existing cure or vaccine would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on US soil,...This lack of protection elevates the risk of the coronavirus evolving into a full-blown pandemic, imperiling the lives of millions of Americans.” [Memo from Trump Trade Advisor Peter Navarro] Feb. 2, 2020 “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.” Feb. 7, 2020 “It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu... This is deadly stuff.” [Trump in a private interview with Bob Woodward from The Washington Post made public on Sept. 9, 2020] Feb. 10, 2020 “I think the virus is going to be—it’s going to be fine.” Feb. 10, 2020 “Looks like by April, you know in theory when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.” Feb. 24, 2020 “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… the Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” Feb. 25, 2020 “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.” Feb. 25, 2020 “I think that's a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.” Feb. 26, 2020 “The 15 (cases in the US) within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.” Feb. 26, 2020 “We're going very substantially down, not up.” Feb. 26, 2020 “Well, we're testing everybody that we need to test. And we're finding very little problem. Very little problem.” Feb. 26, 2020 "This is a flu. This is like a flu." Feb. 27, 2020 “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” Feb. 27, 2020 “The ineptness with which the Trump Administration approached this problem is not only serious, it can be deadly if not changed in the approach.” – Rep. Lloyd Doggett [During a hearing, Rep. Doggett questions HHS Sec. Azar on Trump's refusal to take this virus seriously, warning about mask and test shortages.] Feb. 28, 2020 “We're ordering a lot of supplies. We're ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn't be ordering unless it was something like this. But we're ordering a lot of different elements of medical.” March 2, 2020 “You take a solid flu vaccine, you don't think that could have an impact, or much of an impact, on corona?” [Trump to health officials who answered "No."] March 2, 2020 “A lot of things are happening, a lot of very exciting things are happening and they’re happening very rapidly.” March 4, 2020 “Now, and this is just my hunch, and — but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this. Because a lot people will have this and it's very mild.” March 4, 2020 “If we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work — some of them go to work, but they get better.” March 5, 2020 “I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work.” March 5, 2020 “The United States… has, as of now, only 129 cases… and 11 deaths. We are working very hard to keep these numbers as low as possible!” March 6, 2020 “I think we’re doing a really good job in this country at keeping it down… a tremendous job at keeping it down.” March 6, 2020 “You have to be calm. It’ll go away.” March 6, 2020 “Anybody right now, and yesterday, anybody that needs a test gets a test. They’re there. And the tests are beautiful…. the tests are all perfect like the letter was perfect. The transcription was perfect. Right? This was not as perfect as that but pretty good.” March 6, 2020 “I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it… Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.” March 6, 2020 “I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault.” March 7, 2020 “No, I’m not concerned at all. March 8, 2020 “We have a perfectly coordinated and fine-tuned plan at the White House for our attack on CoronaVirus.”
  7. A few write-ups to follow here, analyzing position groups individually. Tom Green is the writer from Sooners Illustrated. He's not much for spinning, but he's a died in the wool okie and an extreme homer. The first one is a doozy, the WR corps. Highlights below: -He's still holding out hope that Javonnie Gibson, from UAPB, is able to come back and star for them after having his leg snapped in spring practice. -Apparently, the rash of WR injuries last year had everything to do with bad luck and nothing to do with terrible coaching and S&C decisions. Never you mind that the same "bad luck" carried over into the spring with key contributors going down to career-threatening injuries, again. -They brought in 6 transfer WRs from the portal and I am not sure that they name more than 3 of them. -They're completely dependent upon an injury-prone midget from Purdue, guys from Southern Illinois, McNeese State, UAPB and a group of true freshmen to have a good year at WR. They've already started talking about a true freshman from Tulsa or somewhere else in Oklahoma being "special" due to plays in the spring. They're fucking desperate.

  12. Here's TE. This author's ability to make this unit sound like something enviable is borderline witchcraft. Tarp or Karels at Aggie 247 would have offed themselves facing the same obstacle here. Highlights also below: -They have 7 TEs on their roster. They were trying to find an 8th, anywhere, somewhere, nowhere. Not one of these 7 TEs would be a scholarship player at Texas. -One of their TEs is Jaren Kanak, former highly rated LB who was "perfect for Venables' system" and is yet another high 4 star or 5 star bust at OU. -Davon Mitchell, a 5 star TE prospect, was apparently force fed Chef Boyardee on a daily basis in order to gain enough weight to be an SEC in-line TE. He ballooned up to 275 where "he carried the weight really well" all spring until he announced his transfer, then sooner pundits online and on XM 84 blasted him for being an immature fatass. He's now at Louisville and has allegedly lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks or some shit. -Their probable starter and 2nd string guy are from Pittsburg State, D2 school, and Kennesaw State. -Arbuckle, whose TEs had less than 25 targets last year at Wazzou, is claiming that the TEs at OU are going to be a force.

1.) Trump actually got the cost correct / in the ballpark for what the fat drug would cost in America…. 2.) The businessman didn’t say ‘sir’ 3.) Neurotic fat ‘businessman’ ? 4.) ‘It’s not working’ 5.) Every accusation is an admission He’s taking the fat drug. It’s him. He’s talking about himself.

Dude....we're talking about a guy who blames ALL of post-pandemic supply chain-related inflation (ALL OF IT) on Biden, even though the US actually did BETTER, inflation-wise, than almost all of our peer nations. Fuck. That. Shit. He blames everyone else for everything, and takes credit for everything good that ever happened. Nope, apply the same fucking rules to him.
  15. Here's the LB write-up and highlights: -There's a developing theory that they're actually going to be better this season at LB without their multi-year All American LB who was just a 4th round pick. Now, I thought Stutsman was a joke, but I don't believe for a second that McKenzie was sitting behind him just because the coaches are meanies who don't play the best players. -Did anyone even notice that Kip Lewis started last year? He had the quietest starting LB season that I can remember since Tyrone Jones. -They're really thin at LB. If they have an injury problem, which would never happen with Jerry Schmidt running things, they're in deep doodoo.
  16. Tariffs have still increased, meaning the average citizen will pay more... but they have not increased enough 1) for any company to move manufacturing stateside or 2) to eliminate income taxes. So, all of the downside without any of the (admittedly bullshit) upside. ART OF THE DEAL!

  37. Lulz ... " ... meet on the field as two very, very highly ranked ... heh ... I know ... at least ONE very highly ranked baseball team ... " You were right, Billy ... but which one was that?
  38. I don't see either one of those things happening. I'm an attorney, and I'm pretty sure I have a pretty well-settled reputation around here for reporting that things are very much NOT fine. And part of my lament, for that entire time, has been that the "not fine" is due in large part to the fact that lawyers, with pens and paper, are ill-equipped to even slow down a society dead-set on ditching the rule of law. We can file the best cases, motions, and briefs, we can get all the writs and judgments you want....at the end of the day, they are LITERALLY just words and ideas. When a society has opted OUT of words and ideas, and INTO brute force, then what the fuck? You think all the lawyers in the world standing in front of the mob, saying "but I have a writ!", will make 1 billionth of a shit? Lawyers are indeed becoming irrelevant. Because that's how society wants it. And if that's what society wants, no amount of lawyering will make a difference. That is very, very, very bad. Society shouldn't choose that, because the alternative is horrible, violent, unpredictable, and is inevitably completely coopted by those with the most power at the expense of everyone else. But that message falls on deaf ears. It doesn't matter if we follow that message with "Respectfully Submitted, Brisketexan, Bar Card # 12345" or not.
  39. Donald Trump is the dumbest person in the history of American public life. Would you like to try and dispute that?
