DL Damari Simeon from New Jersey. Texas, Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State.
I donโt want to talk about the individual recruits in this column. Instead, I just want you to step back and consider the teams Texas is recruiting against for each of these players.

Thatโs the entire list. Itโs indicative of a new dawn for Texas recruiting.
How? Because Iโve never seen a time where Texas was involved in this many hotly contested recruiting battles against other elite programs for players both in state and out. Never.
And it wonโt stop this week, itโll go into the next two weeks as well.
Before our eyes, Texas is morphing from a national brand that focused primarily itself as a regional recruiting power with specific outreach to other parts of the country to a full-fledged national recruiting power that flexes its muscle anywhere it goes.
Again, itโs a new dawn for Texas recruiting.
That being said, we donโt know (and wonโt know) if the end results will be better or worse until much later, perhaps three or four years down the road.
