In terms of flips, here are my thoughts:
Just General Recruitments Against Other Legit Programs:
-Johnson is going to continue to be a target with a big offer until signing day. Texas was at least as competitive on the offer as anyone.
-Lee didn't get Texas' best shot at an offer due to the Ojo bullshit. That said, Moore has access to Larry Ellison. I assume it's not just the matter of sweetening an offer. The OTF guys seem to have some optimism on this one.
Will the Season Results Matter?:
-Bowman justifiably took an offer that what was absurd. Does another poor performance from Riley make money disappear for this class at USC? Texas was the pick before USC changed the numbers.
-Winston - see Bowman.
-Guervil - Sun Belt Billy has been given everything he's asked in recruiting this cycle and part of that was a crazy offer to Guervil. Like Riley, does mediocre season performance pull any of this money back at Florida?
-Kent - See Guervil.
-Edwards, Krempin, and Roseborough - The Elk is selling a big season to recruits, his admin and his benefactors. If it's another Texas 8&4 or worse, does this cause any hollowing of the class? Does Texas stay interested in these 3?
-I am not sure how interested Texas really was in Tico Crittenden, but he's committed to FSU. They're going to be mediocre again this year. Not 2-10 terrible, but something disappointing to the $$ at FSU. If that guy has a good season and Texas still wants another DT, do they work this one?
-Kreul hasn't committed to OU yet, but I've been working under the assumption that he does. I expect OU to surprise many people and have a decent season. Is that enough to keep the guy if Texas is playing for it all and/or winning it all? If OU falls apart again, this guy would be an easy target and their most valuable recruit. (OU is currently ranked in the 30s, their boards are panicking, and they're not in on many high quality recruits remaining. It's a pleasure to witness.)
I Fucking Doubt It:
-Ojo - fuck him. They are allegedly done with that one.
-Finley - ND will be good and they put more on the table and he and his dad want the max they could get.
-Lott - right.
-Utu - Allegedly the Ojo recruitment ruined Texas' chances here as well. Bama really wanted the guy and Texas wasn't pushing all in at the time.
