Trump’s second presidency is ‘most dangerous period’ since second world war, Mitch McConnell says https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/04/trump-dangerous-period-mitch-mcconnell Thanks for this, Mitch, you fucking cocksucker. We have you to thank for the conservative "supermajority" at SCOTUS and also you could've led the charge to have Dotard convicted in 2021 for J6 but you failed miserably. You had one job.

for the record, that was in response to trump xeeting a distorted photo of Rose O'Donnell. also
  3. The Insider from FCB (I’ve always assumed Gary Patterson is the coach he is talking to)
  4. I am going to be as nice as possible. Have you ever been to the CDC campus in Georgia? I have. Have you taken a tour there? Have you spoke with the scientists there and observed them doing research and their field operatives? I have. Do you have a science background so that when you question something, and the veracity of the proxy for example, you have some understanding of what it is the fuck you are talking about? The CDC is not perfect. But it was the gold standard. The EPA wasn't perfect, but it was the benchmark to which all others compared themselves. Institutions do not have to be perfect to be great or effective. Our military kills our own in friendly fire incidents. Should we dismantle them for lack of perfection? Our gun laws get children killed, why is not perfection the benchmark here? Or is perfection the only standard that is applied to somethings and not others? Your last sentence is old man stupid shit platitude to try to make yourself seem reasonable. People make mistakes. But stop voting for people who lie their way out of them and dismantle institutions that held them to account.
  5. Just ordered 5 of these trays for meetings today. https://houston.vivalopez.com/
  6. Have some buddies in Norman who have one. I'll see what the asking price is. It had a rollover a few years ago, but I think they repaired it. Does require a few donkeys though.
  7. I've gone back and watched the game twice now, because I hate myself. I am in complete agreement with you. Sark started off with a somewhat vanilla game plan, although not nearly as vanilla as people have been saying. The more I watch, the more I see open pass catchers that Arch didn't even try to hit. And that's on top of the times he made the right reads but fucked up the throw. Sark didn't kill it with this game but there was a lot of meat that Arch left on the bone. This is especially true in the red zone. Sark actually called several TD plays while we were in the redzone. And this is something that I was initially furious about and am having to retract my statements about Sark's playcalling. You know that frustratingly stupid "up the gut on 4th and short" call where there was no way we were going to get it? Sark schemed up two TD passes and a TD run in the series of plays before it. The guys just didn't execute. At that point I become more sympathetic to him just calling a simple play where he hopes we get lucky. Because what the fuck else can he do? Sark's RZ playcalling was much better than I remembered and it is baffling to see how poorly Arch executed it. I can't assume we win even if Arch makes all the right calls and throws because OSU would have changed it strategy as well. But man, we would have had a much better chance.
  8. I think the goal is just the general delegitimization of science and expertise. We are the only authority you should listen to. We are the sole source of truth and everyone else is out to fool you. Everything you hear otherwise is just a big coverup. They aren't telling you the whole truth. RFK and his anti-vax crowd are just useful idiots to that end. The Project 2025 types you mention don't give a fuck if anyone gets vaccinated or doesn't get vaccinated. As always, they'll be personally fine. But the more voters they can push into fearful, ignorant, and conspiratorial mindset, the more that they can spoon feed those voters "the truth". It's the same thing that started happening with the media decades ago. Fox comes along and starts screaming 24/7 that everyone that's not Fox is woefully biased. You don't necessarily need everyone to believe that 100% (although plenty will, and do). You just need to get people to start thinking in terms of "two sides" to every story. If Fox implies "we're one half of the story", then people naturally start to believe that their local newspaper, the evening network news, the AP, etc is "the other half". So, boom, there's no referee any more. There's no common set of facts or common worldview that everyone is starting from. Now it just becomes a matter of can you tell a better story than the other guy? If you can, the details of that story don't even matter, because again, everything is two-sided, and if my story is crazy, then so is the other side's. I just need to present mine more persuasively. But why stop with the media? That's only one piece of the wider culture. Now they've moved on to higher education, K-12 education, entertainment, science and medicine, and on and on. Politicize everything. Present two sides to every story. Confuse people as to what the facts are, and you've prepared their minds to hear whatever narrative you want to tell. Facts be damned.
  9. He's arguably the worst appointment by a US President, for certain in most of our lifetimes. His actions are going to directly cause unnecessary deaths. Every senator who voted yes on his confirmation should be kicked in the balls or vagina hourly for the rest of their lives.
  10. LOL, can we give a little grace to CJ Baxter? The dude tore his ACL, spent a year rehabbing, came back earlier than anticipated, and had a positive performance in his first game back against an excellent Ohio State defense. Assuming he stays healthy, I expect him to be more aggressive and break bigger runs as he regains trust in his knee and overall ability.
  11. Our two running backs averaged 4.6 ypc against a damn good defense. Some of you will worry about anything.
  12. Everyone should’ve gotten up and walked out. Absolute farce

  17. Is this some sort of challenge you’re issuing to Codaxx and Red Five, sir? If so, these are men who will absolutely meet the moment.
  18. Huh. Not sure why the fact that America’s top health official is a sentient California Raisin with a fistful of pea gravel rattling around in its larynx causes you to question reality.
  19. I don't even think "wrong" is the correct way to characterize this. Smart people using their high levels of education and experience to try to wrap their heads around controlling the type of novel disease outbreak they were facing might take some actions that ultimately don't have added value, or perhaps even cause some low level harm, but it all has to be weighed against the lives saved, and that calculus is mighty fucking clear. The word "wrong" carries baggage, as if they made a math error or similar. That's not what happened.

  23. Narcissistic clown, this one is. She delights in watching brown-skinned people have families torn apart through deportation. She absolutely deserves every single bad thing that will happen to her going forward. She deserves not a single moment of peace, joy, happiness or anything like that. Drop her off with a parachute into a Siberian forest in the dead of winter. People like this should have to live each and every day filled with horror and sadness for what they have done to people trying to make a better life than what they had where they came from. Lest we forget most of those countries that immigrants show up from are destabilized countries because the of the actions of the CIA and others going back to the 1950’s. The unintended consequences are HELPING THESE PEOPLE OUT, not turning them away.

  28. Gotdam the racism. So bizarre that now overt racism is now a source of pride.
  29. When someone implies the CDC overstepped if not flat out engineered a crisis when COVID wasn't that big of a deal, I just reply that shouldn't we overrespond to a public health situation especially when there are many unknowns but the two knowns are that hospitals are full AND have a high death rate? When I see a roach crawling across the floor, I could find several ways to kill it or get it outside the house. I find the most effective method is to overreact by stomping on it with force. I'm not lightly tapping it with my shoe. Final point. Should we examine how we responded and look for better ways, including perhaps less intense measures? 100% yes. No one on the left disagrees with that. As an example, if we had better N95 production capabilities, we could have opened up more businesses and schools sooner.

  34. Interesting choice. Reminds me of my first freshman football game in high school. Coach tells us to pray before the game and points and says "Rios, lead the team in prayer." Rios starts reciting "Our Father" and then someone blurts out "That's Catholic shit!" Lots of Baptists on the team but the Catholics responded. Then others chime in with different opinions that included curse words and religious insults. One guy says "I don't even believe in God". Someone says "that's because you're a fag, Mike." That was our first and last team prayer.
