  1. He needed that Crocs - Austin connection.
  2. Make your plans accordingly...
  3. This is the Trinidad Chambliss situation. Claim that the second "redshirt" year was actually an injury year that was previously undisclosed.
  4. Ugh. We join the SEC and now we're referring to South Carolina as USC? That's not confusing at all.
  5. You forfeit your remaining eligibility when you enter the NBA draft from college but don't if you enter the NBA draft from Europe because the NCAA decided it is so. Given their rules, it makes sense that they are enforcing the rules in such a way, but that does not mean the rules are legal (or make any sense).
  6. The NFL would rather the schools pay for the development when they're young. The three year rule is an NFL rule, not an NCAA school. Maurice Clarett tried to sue the NFL about the three year rule and lost, as the rule is collectively bargained by the NFL and the players' union.
  7. I know UVA uses the same stadium for soccer and lacrosse.
  8. What conference would Texas even play in if they had varsity Men's Lacrosse? The Big Ten or ACC?
  9. You're telling me that a top player in a sport where the money, at least in theory, is mostly divvied up based on their "name, image, and likeness" is seeking attention?
  10. I think it was a biproduct of attempting to set a salary cap for university payments to players. They did not want to just make the scholarship limit a roster limit, as doing so looks bad for the student athletes, so they needed to raise the number when they switched from scholarship limits to roster limits. Now they can say that the new rules actually allowed additional scholarships, so its good for players.
  11. Since I know everyone wants to know about patent law... "Fixed it" seems a bit strong:
  12. You are correct about the fourth season, but it likely was not his injury. He came in for the starter and started one game (and lost) and then the starter came back the next week.
  13. It sounds like it's a question of whether he was actually injured. His previous school (Ferris State) does not seem to agree that he was sitting out due to injury: "Additionally, the student-athlete’s prior school indicated it had no documentation on medical treatment, injury reports or medical conditions involving the student-athlete during that time frame and cited “developmental needs and our team’s competitive circumstances” as its reason the student-athlete did not play in the 2022-23 season. The waiver request was denied." He redshirted for a year, then sat out another year (either injured or still not ready to play), and then played the next year.
  14. I know right, so far we've been poached by big boiiii programs Baylor, OU, FSU, Kansas, Purdue, and ASU.
  15. Well, at least this makes me feel better.
  16. I don't know about whether they are losing anyone that they wanted to keep, but it seems like the Notre Dame websites are all freaking out just as much about their lack of portal success as the Texas websites, if not moreso.
  17. I mean, yeah. If you have a known commodity you do not really like, you should probably trade him for an unknown commodity you think you might light (but might not). Whether that is what is happening with Barnes, who knows. But I think it generally makes sense to try an unknown commodity if you do not like the known commodity enough.
  18. Mark Cuban is apparently anteeing up for That may be true, but I'm not sure it showed in both teams' Ohio State games. Texas ran for more yards (and more yards per carry) than Indiana did and gave up way fewer sacks and tackles for loss than Indiana did against Ohio State.
  19. It definitely seems to be the overwhelming consensus:
  20. Does ESPN like our class more or did we just get more guys to sign in day 1?
