  1. I was just stating my position, not saying yours was different. There are some on here that want to tax the people who made wise choices to pay people who didn't.
  2. I think a flat tax would be fair also. So we agree on that. But when people say that I should pay more because I made better choices than someone else, and they should pay nothing (and even get money back), that's when I have issues with it.
  3. Even people who marry strippers?
  4. They want to get what they have earned. Getting a college education in an in demand field, gaining experience in your field, learning a trade, or landing a high paying job should not be a reason to be taxed more. Being able-bodied and mentally capable, but never getting an education after high school, taking a low paying job, not learning a trade, not taking advantage of Pell Grants, not joining the military, and living beyond their means should be a reason to be taxed less?
  5. I support them being paid more than $2.13 an hour. But I bet the first ones to bitch about making their pay $10 or $15 per hour would be the servers themselves. They would be making less, and they would have to claim all of it on their taxes.
  6. Cool. Thanks for the answers. Maybe they'll build one here in S.A. one day.
  7. The thing that is shitty is that a lot of companies want to hire mostly part timers so they won't have to provide insurance. So these people work, but not enough to cover their expenses.
  8. More than 40% pay no income tax. So they are paying nothing while others pick up the slack.
  9. double post
  10. What is 30% more of 0?
  11. They already are. If you said get rid of the loopholes so they would pay their fair share, I would be all for that. If you say everyone who currently does not have a negative income tax, should pay more so those that do have a negative income tax can get even more, that is when I disagree.
  12. While others receive the same benefits for paying nothing. More than 40% of filers do not pay anything.
  13. Semantics. Why don't we just pool all of our money together and divide it equally between everyone?
  14. I was referring to income tax. I'm assuming that is where this would be funded from. I am not for taxing people more because they make more money. Why punish people for being successful? What about the middle class? How have they "benefited from our system"?
  15. Is it wrong to assume that the middle and upper class are going to have to pay while lower class will not? Some of the lower class do not even pay taxes now and even get money back because of the tax credits. So it's not a straight division of spending and population, unless you propose that everyone pay the same amount regardless of income.
  16. Yeah and when they do question someone, it turns into a race issue. Like what recently happened with SWA.
  17. Dumb question amnesty: How much extra would each person be taxed to pay for single-payer healthcare?
  18. I watched this video about how Aldi keeps prices down but there are none down here in SA. Is it as great as they make it look?
  19. Is it browns or unskilled? Personally, I don't care what color they are.
  20. Texas vs aggy 66.5 win percentage aggy vs Baylor 67.1 win percentage They are as close to being on par with Texas as they are with Baylor.
  21. Didn't he throw the balls directly to the pitcher and catcher? The ump wanted to inspect them to make sure they were legit.
  22. Fuck yes!
