Formerly DT: COVID-19 - Featuring Lots of Politics, now CR because political talk not going away
Most folks have no idea what's going on. It hasn't blown up on their Facebook feed yet, so it's no biggie. Most people still think it's only affecting China, so as long as you don't go to China all is well.

Holy shit.- Cop in Baytown straight up attacks a guy
Wait, the "victim" looks like he may be white, but so does the cop. Are we sure this video justifies outrage? Is white on white violence really outrage worthy? I'm not so sure.- Austin FC

Interesting article, but maybe a little "Cloaky"... "Some of the nation’s leading public-health experts assembled before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday morning with some worrisome warnings: The dangerous Wuhan novel coronavirus is probably already in the United States in greater numbers than we know and should show itself in clusters in the coming weeks. There’s reason to doubt its spread will die down when the weather warms. And it could ultimately affect hundreds of thousands of Americans." https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/02/12/health-experts-sound-alarm-trump-fights-coronavirus-with-alternative-facts/- Formerly DT: COVID-19 - Featuring Lots of Politics, now CR because political talk not going away

This seems like a recipe for disaster.- When did old Austin die?
Fuck off. You said something stupid. I called you on it, and now you're mad. Bye bye!- When did old Austin die?
Funny how the map you posted stops at 183. Or is that not really Austin. Also, what census data is this map showing? 2000? 2010? But regardless, I'll reiterate that this whole discussion stems from your idiotic statement talking about the last minorities left being pushed out. Fucking asinine bullshit on your part.- When did old Austin die?
Born and raised puto. You're full of shit.- When did old Austin die?
I don't know what to tell you. I work right in the center of downtown. I know the people who work in my building, and I see the faces on the streets when I walk around. I see things much differently. And the demographics say what you're saying is flat out wrong. There are more "minorities" in Austin than White people. And since this whole discussion is about your statement insinuating Austin used to have more minorities than now, it's utterly ridiculous. Ain't nothing wrong with it, it's your life, but it tells me you live in a bubble. Your neighborhood is super White, so Austin must be. Your friends and co-workers are super White, so Austin must be. Where you hang out is super White.... In my day to day life it's not uncommon for me as a White person to be in the minority. I shop at HEB, I go to chain stores in strip malls, and I take my daughter to all types of kid friendly places like the Thinkery, story times at the library, splash pads, school related events, go to the movies (not the Drafthouse). Again, often times we as White people are the minority. Certainly nothing wrong with that, just saying. I also don't live in Barton Hills or Tarrytown, shop at Whole Foods, eat at pricey restaurants, drink at trendy bars, go to ACL tapings, etc. Anyways, my rant is over. I'm sure your viewpoint isn't changed. Big waste of time. It's just interesting to see how your experience is so much different than mine. Peace!- When did old Austin die?
Not with this bullshit again. Austin is more diverse than it has ever been. It is a freaking minority-majority city. The Hispanic and Asian populations have skyrocketed. The share of non- Hispanic Whites has dropped 20 percentage points in the last few decades. And along with the White share, the Black share has also declined. However, in absolute numbers there are more Black people living in Austin than ever before. I could post a bunch of links, but I'm not going to bother. I've done so before, and had negative responses because it doesn't fit in to the narrative certain people wish to believe.- When did old Austin die?
I will say if you really ponder the last 20 years the changes have been mind boggling. If in the year 2000 you would have told the average Austinite that literally hundreds of mid and highrises would have sprouted throughout the city, a massive toll road network would be built, the brand new airport would've already had to have been expanded, Circuit of the Americas, Austin FC, another million people would reside here by 2020 they would've said you were a fool! Unpossible! That's crazy talk!- Bold Predictions for 2020
Undefeated. Natty. Sam wins Heisman. The Herman Dynasty begins.- When did old Austin die?
I'll use 9/11/2001 as the date it, along with pretty much the entire world "died". Nothing has ever been the same.- Hardest game you never beat

I just read up on the Spanish Flu. I of course had heard if it, and knew it was a really bad strain of influenza. However, I never had really looked at the facts of the pandemic. Holy hell, that was horrific. I suggest anyone who hasn't, to look into what happened at that time. It may, or may not be relevant to what this current epidemic will become, but I feel it's still important to become aware of what could happen. - Formerly DT: COVID-19 - Featuring Lots of Politics, now CR because political talk not going away
