Really looking forward to this one. The first season was an absolute feast for the eyes and had a strikingly original narrative structure. Also had one of my favorite guest starring roles in recent memory and the best music sequence this side of The Americans. It's unlike any show on TV right now. Here's the Season 2 trailer (major spoilers):
"Last season, the group was at its best on running plays involving movement such as counters; this spring, they’re being asked to displace people more often and hold blocks longer in pass protection."
We know how this ends: spread offense previously relying heavily on counter run plays switches to under-center pro-style run game without the needed personnel.
One of my favorite scenes in the entire run was S4’s lunch between Bodie and McNulty. Great microcosm for the show’s excellent nuance between cops and criminals.
For reference: how does Herman compare to Strong in terms of getting elite talent to visit? It seems like Mensa is on another level, but maybe I just follow recruiting closer under Herman?
There was this airplane over the Atlantic on its way to New York. It was full of men from the United Nations. So halfway over the ocean the engines run low on petrol so they have to lighten the plane. So they heave out all the baggage, but it's still too heavy. So they chuck out the seats, but it's still too heavy! Finally this Froggy steps up and shouts "Viva la France" and leaps out. Then an Englishman steps up and shouts 'God save the Queen!' and leaps out. But the plane is still too heavy. So the Yank delegate from Texas steps up, shouts, 'Remember the Alamo!' and chucks out the Mexican.
What the doc didn’t address fully was how Bhajwan “wasn’t aware” of Sheela’s management of the commune for like 2 years while a bunch of homeless men were being brought in, drugged, and bussed to vote? Really? Psychology 101: Bhajwan got publicly jilted by Sheela and broke his silence to go scorched earth.
Also: why was the secret tunnel to the jacuzzi apartment skimmed over? Why did that not get addressed? Seems both Sheela and Bhajwan were playing their angles and neither bought what they were indeed selling.
