There is not much left for the OF in the FA market. Maybe sign Winkler and/or Sheets platoon the outfield spots. Shouldn't cost much or any draft capital. Sheets has some talent and Winkler been a pretty good OBP in the past.

Brown is here for his drafting chops, then we get rid of all our draft picks LOL.

We agree to disagree. I'm agreement with most here into not getting into these plus seven year contracts, but six is doable. If they need to go beyond, then put some vesting options in it. If you can get the other parties to agree.

With the Hader and now the Walker deals. You set that back at a minimum two years. We still haven't recovered from the draft loses from the scandal. You build through draft and not FA. We wont pay Bregman through the his years of what 36-37, but we are doing it with the Walker deal and we did for Abreu. Its not making much since from my view.

It might have been better to do a 2yr-$45-48 million type of deal to stay under that $50 million threshold.

Welp. You should be improved at 1st and maybe a net positive at 3rd or not. You should have a better infield. Who the fuck is playing the outfield.

If you believe the Astros way of thinking. Past comments is one reason they want to stay under the soft salary cap is because of not wanting to lose that draft capital. This signing tells us another story. Hell, just sign Bregman and Tucker if its not the real issue. I have been a big Crane believer, but this is going to hurt the organization in the future, especially since your GM is supposed to be the real draft guru.

This is a lot of draft capital for player that we will paying in his 34 through 37 years. Hopefully we are finally due on successful FA signing. Does it seem like Manfred is still trying to fuck us here. We have to give up a 2 and 5, but only get a 4 for Bregman. This seems Sucks.

NFW. Offer JV a One year deal for 10mil with a bunch incentives. I like Couchie, but we have a bunch of pitchers returning and some others in the MiLB that need a shot. Besides, our FA signings have been the shit. Prefer to try to hang on to Bregman and Tucker. The Abreu, Montero and Pressley deals may screw us out of that.- Houston Astros 2024 Season Thread

I was thinking he may have gotten hurt early in the game when his hand/arm was hit when he threw for the TD and it gradually got worse. That will cause that type of injury when you are torquing your body and it comes to a complete stop by another object. You see BB players do it all the time on a check swing, but IDK.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it didn't hurt Bryce Young who missed a lot of his sr season and he is wittle.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins

Some quick math. If the Stros go 12-12. Seattle would have to go 18-6 the rest of the way to catch them. The problem with Seattle is that they have turned into a terrible road team with 12 road games remaining. We need to break the Reds curse or whatever Voodoo they have over us.- Houston Astros 2024 Season Thread

Good point, but find it funny that these guys need so much rest when playing what 7-8 months out of the year for 5-6 hours a day. Reds have played 27 games in 29 days. Just FYI.- Houston Astros 2024 Season Thread
