With absolutely no idea what you look like, I could absolutely visualize that smirk as I read your post. Congrats on your very descriptive prose. 😂

What would it take for Rodney Terry to earn the job?
I vote for giving him a very large contract with "outs". Reward him for the job he's already done. We can afford it. He proved he could win with Beard's team. If he can effectively build and maintain his own teams, he can stay as long as he wants. He " should" be able to do that in the short term thanks to this year's showing and the portal and NIL. I think he's earned the chance to try. Not for nothing, but it's obvious his players love him.

You can order them directly from Alamo. You’d want the machine made ones. If you can go to the store on Berry, you can get the hand made ones directly from the steamer. They’re really good.

The Portugal Thread
I posted about this on another thread but I spent the entire month of June, 2021 in the Algarve in southern Portugal. My uncle had died and I had to go rescue my elderly aunt. Honestly, I didn’t get to see very much. She was in ill health herself so I saw no museums, toured no castles or vineyards or olive groves. I never even got down to the beach a few hundred feet below their condo. I only ate at a handful of restaurants but did a lot of cooking and loved the local grocery store. I DID get to visit the emergency room in Portimao, the hair place in Lagos and the skin treatment place in Luz. I say all that just to get to this: I LOVED Portugal. I loved the people I met. I loved driving the roundabouts. I loved the food, the wine, the climate. We spent the last couple of days in Lisbon but again, I didn’t see much and there was much to see. If I ever “cross the pond” again, it will be to get back to Portugal. Oh yeah, my point - spend a week in Lisbon. Take an overnighter somewhere if you want, (Porto/Douro), but Lisbon is awesome. I look forward to your travelogue and photos. One caveat, the trains are constantly on strike. I had two train rides planned, one from Lisbon to Faro on my arrival, and one from Faro to Lisbon on our departure. Both cancelled due to strike. I still get alerts from the Portuguese railroad when there’s a strike planned. It happens a lot. Just something to keep in mind.

How Is That Chain Still Open?
There used to be a Quizno's at Gessner and Westheimer and I popped in there every so often for a half sandwich and cup of soup to go. The "last" time I was there I got a cup of clam chowder. Clam chowder. Quizno's.

Beware of Summer 2023 beach vacations
I'll wait until Georgio from Ancient Aliens tells me what it's all about. Activity at the Bermuda Triangle underwater bases would be my guess. 🤔

Texas BBQ
I've never been there but the alternative to "being open until sold out" is either having food left over or being open AFTER sold out. Neither one is sustainable in craft bbq. If you want to be Dickey's maybe... Put me in the bad idea category.

EU approves eating ze bugs - bans US bread additives
After inhabiting the Americas for some 15,000 years (and counting), we have found "literally" hundreds of thousands of artifacts used in the hunting, butchering and eating of game animals, AND the cultivation of certain plants, but no one, no one ever, found an artifact associated with pulling the wings off a cricket. 🤔
