  1. RIP Legend. He was baseball's equivalent of Bill Walton. Just an absolutely hilarious, down to earth dude. Damn.
  2. There's several thoughts. 1) You're going to pay taxes on an IRA account on withdrawal regardless (if it's traditional). You've been paying ordinary income tax your whole life, so if you can create enough income via dividends where you're not selling the principle in order to distribute only the dividends, who cares about the tax inefficiency of it (especially if you're wanting to leave the principle amount as a form of legacy) 2) The buy and hold large growth stocks in a taxable account for long term benefit is not a terrible play. Why pay 20-30% tax down the road when you withdraw it when you can pay 15% tax down the road if you need to sell it? 3) If you do have to begin selling principle value of the dividend stocks in order to generate the income needed in retirement within a qualified account, you will likely devour the growth at a faster pace and begin distributing the contribution at an earlier date....lowering your tax burden.
  3. Not gonna lie that I drank a couple of boxes of Nikolai Vodka during Covid. Dollars was tight there for a bit
  4. The models were wildly different in 2021. The one I used to use to trade natty fymurures was adamant we were looking at a prolonged deep cold. I spent the week ahead buying food, firewood and other shit because I trusted that model. Some models are showing next week much colder than what we see from NWS. He’ll, this past week has been much cooler for much longer than they called for.
  5. I bet that chic in the pink 'shoes' is covering up some toes that look like a picture of bathtub gin.
  6. Friends-Maker.....BRICS Breaker....Who gives a shit?!
  7. I’m a fan of both country, and western.
  8. Tricky Park. Is that Linkin Park's less shitty brother?
  9. It really comes down to a point where you have to decide what your goal is: Income and some form of principle value stability or Performance. Here's why it makes a difference... 1) If my goal is income and stability, then I can shut off DRIP in a dividend portfolio, take the income (especially if I have a portfolio yielding a sufficient % or $ amount) and never have to touch the principle value of the portfolio 2) If my goal is performance, then I'm going to have to sell shares to raise capital in order to distribute for income. In down markets, that can lead to serious erosion and quite likely blow up my plan (if you were to take too large a distribution).
  10. Those trees caught fire but were also well watered. They are likely going to die or are dead however.
  11. Get outta here. That's just RWNJ propaganda.
  12. I think the insured losses are going to be much higher to be honest. I've seen numbers of 20,000 structures destroyed. 20,000 structures @ $1mm insured is $20bn. Now factor in the business insurance aspect. I think we're pushing in the $50bn+ in insured losses and overall economic impact closer to 12 digits than 9.
  13. I thought the ignorant people only lived in TX and places nearby....
  14. I'm betting the number is going to be closer to $200bn when you factor in the nationwide cost of insurance increase and a bunch of other factors. No way on earth that $20bn is the number.
  15. If I can get a "lesser cut" that tastes like a primo cut for 1/2 the price.....then I'm taking advantage of it. But by all means, cowboy, you do you
  16. You never know anymore. Awareness is a lost art as well
  17. Of the not open variety
  18. We don't allow Black Ice into our community. -Collie Station city council
  19. Oh no....There goes Encino...go go Gojira
  20. This market is asshole
  21. I think their cover of 'Killin' the Blues' is pure magic. Alison's angelic voice mixed with the harmonies of Plant that show why he was the quintessential rock god. Just absolutely incredible.
  22. Made some Wagyu Petite Sirloins I picked up from H‑E‑B last night. Sorry for the pics since I forgot to take the pre-grill inside. I’m telling you, those bitches are one of the best bang for your buck deals out there. Tastes like a damn buttery ribeye but these two only set me back $20.
