Stahp. They could hire Deion fn Sanders and things would not go well for Shedeur. Anyone who takes that job is going to fucking lose because their OL is trash. The Browns drafted Shedeur and he found a way into the rotation... If he found his way out, only a handful would say it's racism. Maybe they say people don't like Shedeur, but racism? You're trying too much.
So... I've been in Europe for 10 days and haven't seen the Rockets. Judging by this thread, everyone sucks except Reed. I'm still in Europe, so it may be jetlag.
He has no potential as a CFB LB, even though he did do something. Point being, stars or whatever ranking or decision system in football should be a combination of important factors... Height Weight Speed AND performance.
I thought that was what made star rankings... Someone who has never played a down has a lot of potential. My son who played one year of defense and led his team in tackles as a 5'7" 150 lb OLB has a lot of potential. Production matters more than potential and measurable. It shouldn't even have been a topic for discussion. But alas, we are here.
Sark the OC is relying on the position coaches for that... As he should. When a player isn't cutting it, Sark the OC should say, "I need someone better. We have X players at that position, I expect one of them to be better than this. What are we missing?" And the position coach should be confident in their coaching ability and the players they have and be able to put in the next player. If none of the players can succeed, the position coach cannot be counted on to succeed - either they can't coach or they can't identify talent... Or both. Sark the Head Coach must identify the failure points and address them.
He needs more money dudes... These non-shooter, non-scorer, non-hustlers need to get on. I didn't watch a lot of college basketball, but I watch enough to know we've had the same issues for a while... We never seem to have consistent shooters. When we had ONE it was obvious. If you're not going to have consistent shooters, then the effort level has to be Kelvin Sampson. I think & hope that is what Miller is alluding to... Dudes have to want to go to the wall.
I think y'all overrate "We're Texas" and players just jumping. High School players and transfers don't think that way. We shouldn't recruit that way. (I doubt the staff does it to the extent that surly says it.) Once they're here, "We're Texas" might be how we keep them. Show them how they fit, how they'll get on the field, how they'll develop for the next level, and how they'll get paid. It's not crazy. Only one of those things is openly new. Players still talk to each other. Teams are still built the right way. Money is just an additional consideration.
