That would be interesting to know. I wouldn't think he was cooking prime brisket right off the bat in the trailer, but then again maybe he figured out early on that it was going to give him the best finished product.
Not sure what happened to the pics above. Another good day of skiing with snow falling most of the day. Got split up from my 19 year old son and next thing I know he is being brought down in the basket by ski patrol mobile. May have injured his MCL. Going to see what it looks and feels like in the morning. He was able to put weight on it as the ski patrol helped him to the Suburban from the medic tent.
Great skiing at Angel Fire. Base is good with some powder as they have had frequent snow lately. They got 6" two nights before we got here and forecast of snow over the next 3 days. It's a family ski trip where my kids have never skied. Lessons this morning and afternoon, then onto the mountain the next couple of days.
I've been in a couple 105+ degree days in Dallas and just had -15 in Dalhart last night. That was some pretty freaking cold weather. Wind chill was -28. Never seen below zero on the temp gauge before yesterday.
Taking the family skiing in Angel Fire, NM this next week and have plans to stop overnight in Dalhart on Sunday night. Don't think I've ever been in below zero temps before.
Anyone tried this place out yet? Goldee's BBQ https://www.dallasnews.com/food/restaurant-news/2021/02/10/im-calling-it-goldees-in-fort-worth-is-the-best-new-barbecue-joint-in-north-texas/
Here's an article from the NYT that goes a little deeper in how this came about. The New York Times: Mark Cuban Says He Told Mavericks to Stop Playing Anthem. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/09/sports/basketball/dallas-mavericks-national-anthem.html
Looks like my timing actually paid off. Was going to go to Angel Fire over Christmas break for our first family ski trip but Covid did away with the kid's break. At that time only 25% of the runs were open and snow was crap. Going for kid's winter break in a couple of weeks now and the mountain has gotten a good amount of snow the past few weeks where they are at 100% trails open. So that should spread everyone out a bit. Not much to do in town as restaurants are all take-out or eat outside but I got a condo that is half block from the lifts so we'll just plan meals there. Going to ski 3 days and then hopefully snowmobile the 4th day before coming back home.
And just like that the '20-'21 hunting season is done. Can I get MLD tags for ducks? Mallards are just starting to get here. It's been hell of a season with lots of great hunts and memories.
I went swiping by and just saw the picture and thought "guess someone had a bad deer season and got fed up" before reading what you wrote. [emoji1787][emoji16]
