We will also lose our military bases in Europe which cripples us in a lot of areas. Massively cripples us. Unless we non longer want to be a world power. Speaking of Europe, what are our former allies doing?

As opposed to military conflict? It’s the least bloodiest way they have of directly confronting us, and it’s also the most powerful weapon they have.
  3. What's your child situation. Like Captainant said, I'd be tempted to look at the Steam Machine, but I have a massive Steam library. There's nothing on the PlayStation or XBox that I don't feel like I could get something similar on Steam (or even get the PC versions But also I'd look at the Switch 2, because I have kids, I have a healthy Switch library for my first gen Switch, and there's a growing list of games I want for Switch 2. The sports games are fun, Mario Kart, etc. are fun.

I read an article about this and checked it (they said 25-30%) and it's actually around 33% of US Treasury Bonds as of a year or so ago (the article was older). China adds another 8-9%. Japan adds another 10%. China would love to replace us on the world stage, so that's over 40% of our bonds owned by countries that would not be friendly to us and who knows where Japan would fall, since they wouldn't be able to rely on us if China or North Korea fucked around. Not to mention it's literally trillions in trade between us, Canada, and Europe. It's an insanely powerful weapon - the ability to take our economy down and into a serious depression. And we don't recover for many years (and we may never recover some of the trade we currently have).
  5. I don't think I've seen them take down a person without at least 4-5 people involved (and if it's only one or two, there's 3-4 within reach), it's pretty sad. That photo of 6 of them with rifles confronting that Black woman at her house in Minnesota was telling. These are not very brave people.
  6. I don't have that much faith in all Republicans but many of them (or their staffers) understand polls and the public's distaste for attacking Greenland/NATO, and more importantly, they understand bonds and how international trade works - their constituents and states rely on those imports and exports, and they rely on a stable economy (and those Republicans in Congress rely on a stable stock market for their fortunes). The EU does around $1 trillion dollars in trade business with the US yearly (nearly twice what we do with China). Canada does $750 billion in business with the US. Europe and Canada hold over $3.5 trillion dollars in US Treasury Bonds, around 33%-35% of US debt. China owns $750 billion, around 8%. What do all of those numbers mean? It means %40 of US Treasury Bonds are held by countries that would see us as an enemy and/or see taking us down as an economic opportunity. It wouldn't be hard for Europe/Canada, and yes, China, to completely turbofuck our economy and put us in a massive depression, and China would be right there in the mix, because they are learning it's lucrative to work with other countries to replace the US as a trading partner. Oh, and Japan owns well over $1 trillion in US bonds, over 10% by itself. They would have some decisions to make since it's clear we wouldn't do anything about China attacking Taiwan, North Korea attacking South Korea, and any of them attacking Japan. Republicans in Congress do not want a 1930s-level Great Depression, and those bonds and trade are Europe's/Canada's/China's best and quickest way to enact regime change in the US.
  7. Appears Paxton is scared.
  8. Between that data leak of 4,500 ICE employees and people actively tracking down various ICE agents/employees, they should realize there are consequences to murder. And I have a feeling plenty of the ICE bros saw their buddies have to clean out Ross's house and will hopefully have that on their minds if they want to murder somebody.
  9. And there's more and more archaeological evidence being dug up all the time for various things getting back into the Neolithic/Early Holocene period. It's not hard to understand how something as massive as that kind of dramatic world-altering sea-level rise would have been passed down through the millennia. Our descendants will be talking about Vince Young's run thousands of years from now, even if they don't know what a "Longhorn" or "Texas" or "football" is. He'll probably be hailed as a great warrior attacking some enemy.
  10. Yep, let her fuck with the conspiracy nuts in MAGA and confuse them about TPUSA/etc.
  11. Volume is where it's at!
  12. Ironically, Rubio helped create/pass a law in 2024 preventing the President from pulling us out of NATO, just in case Trump tried to pull us out of NATO. And if he ordered the military to go to war against NATO, well there are already Republicans in Congress openly talking about impeachment if he takes us to war against NATO (why it's the line they won't cross, I don't know other than maybe they know Russia wants this). An impeachment is something he's absolutely scared shitless off and he knows those Republicans have talked about it, and there's also a healthy chance many in the military will refuse. There was no declaration of war against Greenland, and it does not fall under any Congressional actions concerning us attacking other countries. Congress has been passing stuff he doesn't like these past few weeks - he's clearly not in control of either chamber anymore, and as others have said, once the primaries shake out, a lot of the Rs will be free to oppose him even more. There's a reason why he's not putting boots on the ground in Venezuela so that Chevron can start building or repairing infrastructure there. Venezuela was over the line in terms of declaring them terrorists and trying to tie them to the 9/11 authorization, but Congress let it lie since all we did was remove Maduro (Panama/Iraq being a flimsy justification) and let Trump steal the oil from some tankers - Trump and Co. didn't even bother to build up an actual invading force to truly conquer/control Venezuela, which was the tipoff that he was not serious about controlling Venezuela proper. (Edit: and that's a part of why the oil companies are not enthusiastic about Venezuela). Trump loves all of this current attention over Greenland, it's a distraction for Minnesota and Epstein and Venezuela. As long as he does nothing significant about Greenland, it's a toy he can use to distract the media/public. If he orders an invasion, shit starts happening that is out of his control (and he's a control freak) - Congress gets involved, and he has already soured on the National Guard carrying out his orders, and given his distrust of the military, he knows that even some high-profile objects/resignations/refusals will damage his image - Whiskey Pete was going after Kelly because they know what Kelly said resonated with service members and they can't let that mindset take hold. On some level, he probably knows that American soldiers dying to invade fucking Greenland is not going to play well with the public, nor will killing civilians in Greenland, and given his obsession with polls, he damned sure knows it doesn't have popular support. So he's going to keep pulling this shit with Greenland probably for months, until he finds a new distraction and then it fades away. It came close to being Iran, and could still be Iran, and at least with Iran he's got a legal standing (and support in the US) to fuck around. If that carrier group on its way to the Persian Gulf doesn't turn back, I will not be surprised if we go after the Iranian leadership - that bullshit with him and Republicans in Congress telling the Iranian people to keep protesting, that help is on the way, could very well have been that carrier group. He is still obsessing over the Noble Pizza Price as well.
  13. The DOJ has done such a bang-up job with Comey and Letitia James.
  14. If it was by text, email, or social media and you can get screen grabs, tell them that as a patriotic American, you're going to call ICE on them for knowingly giving money to criminals who are apparently trafficking drugs.
  15. The response would be to invade Greenland.
  16. Going to be great for the economy going to into the midterms since they are our largest partners. He might not be able to give us our $2,000 payoffs he promised. And those trading relationships will not recover for many years - if we fuck with them, they will find alternatives and not look back.
  17. It doesn't feel like Picard, that's for sure. Or Discovery (although it's first few episodes had their moments).
  18. I don't think TNG would have survived either. It would get the Firefly treatment.
  19. And Grokipedia is not taking the traffic - people are getting their questions mostly answered within Google or Bing the moment they type their question, which is its own problem.
  20. Been listening to a bunch of 80s CDs with my oldest, and I gotta say, this is extremely accurate
