  1. Based on the roster, absolutely and that's why the whole thing is fucked.
  2. There's a new rule in soccer that an insanely stupid pass from a shit-for-brains goalkeeper negates offsides.
  3. The United States has made at least the Semifinal in all but one Gold Cup. In 2000 they lost to Colombia in the quarterfinals. The United States has never failed to get out of the group stage at the Gold Cup. The United States is not going to get out of the group stage at the Gold Cup the way they are currently playing. They need CP and Adams to be a miracle cure. Good luck, kids.
  4. It's extremely depressing that in 12 minutes Jozy Altidore has been the best player on the field today for the US.
  5. It doesn't matter when we start it, US Soccer doesn't give a shit.
  6. Jozy on for the USMNT for the first time since the loss to T&T. Hopefully it's the last.
  7. This article from two years ago shows just how fucked the USMNT is unless they figure out a way to make the young potential stars they have the focal point of the program. http://americansoccernow.com/articles/the-missing-years-u-s-soccer-s-development-gap
  8. The Fed stayed the course after World Cup qualifying replacing Gulati with one of his lackeys. There is no hot seat for American soccer. The program is dying and nobody in charge gives a fuck. They think everything is fine.
  9. fixed
  10. Salomon Rondon scored 11 goals in the Premier League this year. There isn't a pure striker in the US Pool that could score 11 goals over three seasons in the Premier League.
  11. We couldn't qualify for the World Cup in CONCACAF. He's exactly our standard. (I know this is a long-time bit around here, but still)
  12. If I'm Pulisic and Adams I'm telling the USMNT thanks but no thanks to playing in the Gold Cup. Not even remotely worth their time currently.
  13. hahahahahahahahaha
  14. Someone posted this on Twitter.
  15. Venezuela finished last in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying. They have a guy who scored 11 goals in the Premier League this year starting and the MLS all-time single season goal scoring leader on the bench today. The US has a pile of shit on the field.
  16. PHENOMENAL pass from Zack Steffen to the Venezuelan player leading to the goal.
  17. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  18. not on the bench. Ain't playing until the tournament.
  19. The Jamaica keeper is American and cute.
  20. When Korea got the re-kick on their final PK I just had a sinking feeling Senegal was going to miss their last one and they did.
  21. I'd take Zack Steffen. He's the only definite I'd take. Other than that maybe Miazga because he and CCV had good chemistry in defense on the U20s? I could see them bringing a guy like Arriola maybe. I dunno. The pickin's are slim.
  22. Pretty sure Sue Bird has her on a pretty militant diet on which I think meth is probably discouraged, but yeah, I guess it's possible!
  23. Plus you get to bring three players over the age of 23 so that means the US can bring...nevermind.
  24. Megan Rapinoe on meth plays for South Africa
  25. The US national team program needs to hire coaches at the youngest levels to teach defensive technique because every damn tournament the US gives up stupid goals that cost them games. Ecuador was opportunistic on both goals but they also capitalized on poor defensive efforts which at some point you think it would be a priority to stop. Ramos' substitution strategy was weird. Made the right call to take De La Fuente off at the half, but Llanez tried to do way too much so it didn't work out as well as it did the last game. He probably waited ten minutes too late for each of the next two substitutions. No reason to wait until the 85th minute for the final sub when you're chasing a goal and Rennicks had been good off the bench. I know this is going to sound new-agey but the US needs to hire a career counselor of sorts. They need someone within the program that is helping the young players make the right decisions where they sign so that guys end up going places where they develop (The USMNT youth program should forge an agreement with the Bundesliga even though I have no idea if that's legal or not) Weah, Soto, Pomykal (who a lot people are high on and I thought was a disappointment in the KO games) and Richards seem earmarked for the Senior team, but I'd expect them to all be part of U23 Olympic qualifying this fall.
