The Democratic Party
I mean, who knows, but there is an old Maine flag with a pine tree on it that lots of Mainers love, so it might be harmless.

I think you should leave
Oh my god, I finally got around to watching this and I’ve never laughed so hard. Absolutely incredible.

The Lost Generation essay
I didn’t read the article - because I don’t really care that much - but are these dudes actually complaining about not getting jobs in writer’s rooms? I used to do some screenwriting in a prior life, had some minor competitive success and never was able to make it on to a show. Do I get to write an essay about how life is unfair now? Grow up and go to law school like the rest of us.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal
Ha - I think I’ve been there! I think it was something like Mexicali or Mezcali? It was shockingly good.

It’s Time for Organized Resistance
Apparently the only way a phone isn’t trackable is if you remove the battery (which you usually can’t). They also apparently have technology which can link burner phones to your usual phone/home (they can tell if a phone spends a lot of time at a certain location or around other phones), so a burner phone won’t work if you ever take it home or bring it around your standard phone.

Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal
Dems need to give them a cutthroat reflection of their posturing. Each week that goes by with no deal, up the ante. This week reps get off with the healthcare items. Next week it’s the healthcare items + [insert other generally appealing thing to voters at large]. The next week, we ask for a new goodie. Put the vise to their metaphorical nuts.

2025 Thread of the Rains
Just found out our very good friends lost their toddler while their river house was ripped apart in Kerrville. Mom saved the older child. Absolutely devastating.

The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread
Who knows where they would end up if Maga is defeated, but Tim and Bill Kristol have shockingly been more on the pulse regarding the grotesque deportations (and frankly many other issues) than most of the Dem leaders have. They are podcast hosts so very different stakes involved, but it’s a bit disheartening that former neocons are more passionate leaders on these issues than many true-blue dems. I do think Tim and Bill pretty frequently castigate themselves over their wrongly-held prior beliefs. Sarah less so.
