  1. You don't have time to explain reality to me? I need to grow up? You're not beginning this exchange in a manner that leads me to think it would be productive. You're already right, and I'm somehow an immature person who doesn't live in reality. All because I pointed out that there were mixed messages which didn't help things. I'm not alone in that thought. I could pull up more, but what's the point? I'm sorry as well that Delta wasn't predicted, but there were already concerns with the CDC saying the vaccinated could quit wearing masks. Lastly, take your sanctimonious and completely misplaced superior than thou attitude and shove it up your ass. Go fuck yourself.
  2. I refuse to grow up. But why the hostility? I wasn't making an argument, just noting that it isn't all anti-science nut jobs. Do you think the months without masks helped contain the spread?
  3. So, in my local terrestrial radio area the NPR station is HD, and there are two channels for the same station. I found the second channel playing jazz. Turns out it plays jazz all the time. I thought maybe it was some national broadcast, but I finally heard the call letters the other day: https://kmhd.org/ Plenty of streaming jazz stations out there. But to hear it over the air in my car without subscribing to a satellite service, well that's pretty cool to me.
  4. Huh, thought I posted about it on here, but maybe not. I enjoyed it, got the vinyl. But for some reason just haven't felt like playing it more than once or twice. Didn't stick with me for whatever reason.
  5. There was the part where we were told we didn't need masks and that they wouldn't help. Then we were told sorry, that lie was just to make sure the medical community didn't run out of masks. Not, eh, we didn't really know, but we lied to you for your own good. So trust us now that we're not lying when we say you need to wear masks. Even if we accept that premise, you don't build trust by lying. Then there was the part for a month or two(?) after the vaccines came out where we were told that if we were vaccinated we didn't need to wear a mask. Then Delta happened and we were told sorry, that was wrong, back to mask wearing. Don't get me wrong, there's certainly a hardcore anti-science faction that doesn't help. But neither do conflicting signals from those who are supposed to be the ones we look to for guidance.
  6. Me three! although I still don’t have normal full taste and smell and am starting to give up on it. Oh well. Beats dying some horrible intubated death.
  7. Great stuff. By the end I was moved. As a complete internet stranger I felt I knew her.
  8. "You are now free to cough about the country."
  9. “Floribamatucky” truly made me laugh out loud. Thank you
  10. Better call Paw Patrol.
  11. Just out of curiosity, are there other common factors on the vaxxed? Age range? Overweight? Not trying to detract from your message at all.
  12. Sorry MD, sounds like a terrible experience. I got my flu vaccine today. I am not due for my booster until roughly the end of February.
  13. Never ever ever skip leg day. 🏋️‍♂️ Hope you get better soon.
  14. This and my personal experiences make me wonder if we should quit calling themselves "breakthrough infections." Especially since it seems lots of folks think more and more vaccinated people will be infected. Hospitalized versus Non-hospitalized infection maybe?
  15. That would suck, for sure. After I posted this I went to pick up my son from Middle School. Two wrecks within a block from each other. It has been snowing all day. I thought these folks were supposed to know how to drive in this stuff?
  16. Interesting. Have never lost power here.
  17. Interesting thread:
  18. Based on my experience with my elementary age daughter testing positive and exhibiting no symptoms I could see this as well.
  19. Based on my experience with my elementary age daughter testing positive and exhibiting no symptoms I could see this as well.
  20. Speaking of sports, it seems the NFL has had 75 players test positive this week. From my understanding many of those would be asymptomatic as the NFL proactively tests. That kind of thing always makes me wonder how many have had it and will never know.
  21. I guess I'd like to see numbers and rationale on that. The doctor in this thread seems to agree with me, btw. There is no percentage you can actually accurately assign, correct? Again, a room full of people all who have done some physical exertion. Some sitting at the bar for hours. Others maybe in and out. It just seems silly to say that somehow there is a reduction in harm based on an incredibly high amount of arbitrary decisions.
  22. Sorry dude, but you didn’t answer my question at all. Is the spread limited by how long I do or don’t nurse my beer? I mentioned nothing about being inconvenienced.
