thinking about a road trip to bears ears area in july. first night in northern new mexico. be at bears ears by noon the next day. how many days will I need there? where should I camp? what are the must sees?
been looking for that forever. they stopped making it and will likely never make it again. most people didnt like it, but i wanted to try it anyway. did they have any more?
what was the price? i've bought one aged in a thomas handy barrel. it's pretty good sippin tequila but not sure it was worth what i paid (somewhere between $70-90, from what i recall).
just started reading The Nightingale last night, and boy if it doesn't smack of a book that should certainly be made into a movie. starts off in titanic mode - old lady picks up a relic and starts reminiscing, flashback to her story as a young lady.
one of my plot pitfalls also. they've already been through one avalanche , this "brace" announcement over the loudspeaker shows that it's not uncommon, but they're just going to loop around and blow by there again next time around without any problems for 6 years running.
yep, axe has shown to be unforgiving and holds a grudge against his enemies until he buries them. was out of character to bring her back in. he even knows that chuck set him up and was behind it and still he lets her hang around his business all day every day.
I havent heard that this was the last season and it doesnt appear to be heading towards any grand finale. some of the characters are too over the top, okay almost all of them. i wouldnt mind seeing this show end. is there a normal person on the show? a character you understand and is believable?
i am, and like it a lot. it requires some suspension of belief as some of the plot points are preposterous, but still a good show about class struggle.
it is tasty. I actually loved the bottle I bought. if you read the bio of uncle nearest he sounds remarkably like jack daniels, and he makes bourbon the exact same way as jack daniels. but the bourbon is better. not sure its worth the $50+ price point but it was pretty good.
sorry I cant make the Christmas party hugo, but please call me when the next poker night comes up. betty says hi and wants me to tell you she's come up with a nice carrot cake recipe for the next bake sale.
It's like people that try to tell you old Vines make better wine than new ones.
no, those two things are not the same. it's more like people telling you mass-produced things taste better than hand-crafted ones. some people like mgp, and you're right the process is the same, you're just skipping a step and paying someone else to do part of the process for you. theres not as much respect in that, compared to a grain to glass outfit.
as much as I bitch about garrisons prices, Kentucky owl is laughable. I own a confiscated but refuse to pay $200+ for their regular bourbon. i'd be hard pressed to pay that for pappy or any of the btac's. they are not in that league so to try to price themselves there is asinine. I get a chuckle that I see it on the shelf in every store.
i'm a pessimist I guess. I'm barely holding on that theres a realistic shot to beat him. I think everyone in America thought Hillary was going to win so didn't get out to vote. we cant get complacent and think biden's got this. we have to get out the vote.
how it stacks up? that's the new release he just rated and compared to Kentucky owl. i'm a garrison fan, and am tempted to buy another bottle just so I can have one to drink. I still have a 375 ml of the original release. took a bottle of that to paris with me and it was excellent each and every night in my hotel room. fuck the haters. I'm not sure I don't like the estacado better, but this balmorhea release is supposed to be pretty good.
none of us will probably ever see it but they released a laguna madre, aged in limousin oak. i'd love to try it but doubt it will live up to the search.
not sure if anyone else is from the east end of Houston, but there's still a cafeteria called Dinner Bell that's been around since I was a kid in the 70's. Still a great place to go for pies. not near as iconic as luby's. luby's is the gold standard. there was a picadilly in gulfgate, and probably in almeda too, but I was never much of a fan compared to luby's.
