  1. The idea is that when rains come down in or south of Austin, or when the Highland Lakes recieve to much water, they can store it in the resevoirs. That water can then be used for the farmers and for the ecological needs, without having to be dispersed from Lake Travis. The farmers were also put on a tight distribution plan 5-8 years ago. There are specific witholding threshholds that have to be met on specific dates of the year before the farmers are granted water.

  3. What, exactly, are you insinuating, sir?
  4. Did it actually rise, or did we just start getting real numbers that were not going to China and Iran?
  5. In my town/neighborhood, they are allowed by the police as long as they are in the subdivision, without all of the required blinkers, headlights, etc to be legally street legal. But they will ticket as soon as they see you outside the subdivision, which happens to be where the only gas station/c-stores are.
  6. This has been going on in my neighborhood since I moved here two years ago. The kids driving around here are more like 10-12. I've never really seen any sort of aggegious tomfoolery or crazy driving. But I do see them sometimes overload the carts with too many kids.
  7. A localized power outage is almost never attributable to ERCOT. The vast majority are issues with the local delivery companies.
  8. I see we are to the part where we share what we're cooking. I've got a pot of, from-scratch, beef panang curry going now. Also, fuck dry January. Not sure why people sign up for that.
  9. Bought four of these on a whim at Lowers a few weeks ago for $12 off each. I guess I am about to find out how well they work.
  10. Yeah, good call. I just ordered a small, cheap one from Amazon that will be here tomorrow. I'll run it over night on Saturday and Sunday nights.
  11. If I lose power I will probably just drain all of the above ground equipment and hope for the best. The good news is that I've never lost power in this house for more than about 45 minutes.
  12. Side question: if it is going to be below freezing for 40-60 hours, do I need to put a heater under the tarp on my pool equipment, it will the pump running and tarp work well enough? Thanks
  13. The good news about this storm is that, not only does it send freezing rain and ice for extended periods of time, it also includes 15-20 mph winds to break the overly weighted branches off easier.
  14. Light sleet in north Georgetown
  15. The switch to a 9 game conference schedule is not going to be kind to the aggies.
  16. It's in times like these that I really miss Karen.
  17. I used to think this, but not any more. All of Eurpoe now sees who Russia is and have already begun building up thier military srengths and forming stronger bonds with one another. If the war ended today, all of Europe will still keep building those strengths. Especially Ukraine. Additionally, it will be a decade, at bare minimum, beforre Russia will be able to attempt anything like this again, and Putin will likely be dead by then.
  18. That shoudl gain some traction simply because it adds play-in games. More games = more money.
  19. Please don't do this to this thread.
  20. But those rules were established, well known, agreed upon and not biased towards anyone before the season started.
  21. True. But it was also blatant, premditated, cheating delivered straight from the Head Coach. That should be enough.
