  1. Devil's advocate here.... In actual racing, could the new regs make for more passing in unconventional spots? It's not like you MUST go slower in corners to save charge, it's a choice, right? And maybe you elect to instead go aggressive thru that corner to potentially gain track position and then try to defend on the straight. Or feignt that and force your opponent to go aggressive and then attack on the ensuing straight. Qualifying will be dreadful, I'll concede that, but maybe the racing will be more interesting than 90% of passes coming under the aid of DRS.
  2. What kind of gobbly hook signature is that and do people actually sign in Sharpie? Get a respectable pen.
  3. That's pretty much Miami in a nutshell. And Vegas for that matter.
  4. I had a pretty decent fuck up on my current project sooooo plenty of scrap. Also doesn't help that I needed 6' boards of 6/4 and they max out at 10' and min at 7'. C'est la vie.
  5. If the Ferrari PU is way ahead of the pack but conforms to the rules, then hat tip Ferrari, you've earned your early season dominance, though I'm sure they'll plan F it into obvilion. If the Merc PU is only ahead because they're taking advantage of a loophole and running at 18:1 under load (or whatever it is in reality) and they get caught, they deserve what's coming to them. Follow the rules, for all teams, for all the races. I realize that never will happen but that's the ideal scenario F1 should strive towards. The rule is 16:1 and if you have to change tests to better enforce it, so be it. Just because testing sucks currently doesn't make the rule invalid - all teams should still adhere to it. If Merc get f'd because they got caught knowingly breaking the rule, too bad. Definition of FAFO.
  6. Quick project using scrap wood - sofa arm table thing. Metal legs fabricated by my BIL using 1" square tube steel Wood top made from African Mahogany and Maple Wine holder complete
  7. UCLA beat us again in 98 so I will not be making that mistake twice.
  8. If you ever needed proof that the Republican party led by this man is completely devoid of any real policy or plan, they're attacking guns now. All they have is reflexive protective actions to help ensure their narrative resonates with their base. And the only narrative that matters is the one that keeps them faultless and in power and their base just nods their head and carries on. It is disgusting that so many Americans are still falling for this shit. I know we're a stupid people, I know we're a coddled culture incapable of critical thought, incapable of looking ourselves in the mirror and giving ourselves a real honest self assessment and doing something about it, but the extent to which all of those permeate this country is astounding.
  9. They're kinda bitches.
  10. He got a 2 week timeline on DHS funding. That's better than the 6 weeks R's wanted. If they can't agree in 2 weeks, DHS/ICE loses funding. They kept the government open (not R's, D's did), kept the moral high ground (for what it's worth these days), and they still have a gun to the R's head. I think this is a win for D's. We'll see how the next two weeks plays out.
  11. So their new orders are to do what they were supposedly supposed to be doing in the first place?
  12. Even my shitty Rigid is good enough for finish cuts - I think it's worth trying to fine adjust it. Regardless though, you will always get a better finish with hand tools but ain't no body got time for that shit.
  13. If it's within budget, get the Saw Stop. Table saws can be used for so much stuff that it's a good splurge tool, IMO.
  14. Normal stuff when you shut off water. Though I'm not sure if you shut off the city side or the house side but always shut off the house side. If you fuck up and break a city side valve, that's a whole can of worms....
  15. I'll help with the reply. GDP pretty much always goes up unless we're in a turbo-fucked era - that's a meaningless barometer. The more meaning indicator is GDP growth % and it's fairly inconclusive thus far (at best): GDP growth rate: Our debt continues to climb, not go down, and is currently in the middle of a fairly steep ascent in 2025 despite the best "efforts" of DOGE and MAGA promises: And the inflation rate has been trending down but has yet to return to pre-COVID levels (though the argument for whether that's healthy or not is entirely different):
  16. That's my table saw. It's fine. It loves to get out of alignment constantly so before any series of cuts, I'm checking square everywhere. The feature that allows it to expand it's width... Clamped that down as it would wiggle around while "locked" and caused issues. The motor gets out of align as well causes the back end of pieces to get an extra bit of shave. The fence is a 50/50 proposition - checking it for parallel to the blade every time I cut, sometimes no issue, sometimes a good 1/4 inch+ off. It's portability is great, love that it comes with a platform to roll it around on that you can also collapse for easy transport. Power wise it's good enough - struggles a bit on really hardy woods but rips through ply and soft woods with ease. It's an adventure but I'd guess most saws in that price range are like that. It's certainly a giant step down from the Saw Stops of the world (and priced as such). If you're wanting to build a bunch of stuff, splurge on a Saw Stop. If you just need a tool for every now and then, then it's perfectly fine.

His inclinations to be vague are not cut and dry, I'll give you that - he's a politician after all. But the law IS cut and dry.

If that's all it takes to explain the law, then the law is pretty damn cut and dry.
  19. Step 1 - have a fleet of vehicles that can quickly deice and plow roads. I love how northerners love to chirp when ice cripples our state as if it's a driving skill thing. Anyone can drive on roads in Chicago in Jan/Feb b/c they are constantly being cleared. We don't have that infrastructure down here nor is it prudent to purchase it. Edit: I realize you didn't call out driving specifically but the overall premise remains.
