I felt pretty positive about Herman too. He was the guy we wanted, unlike when we hired Strong after alleged Saban thing fell through and while there were some good assistant coaches available that would turn out to be great hcs later on, none checked that head coach box so we ended up with Charlie. Anyway when it came time to hire Sark, I knew he was really good, but there was hesitation because he was running that amazing 2020 Alabama offense with some incredible error canceling personnel with a good Saban defense and during the messed up Covid season which also saw a pretty ho hum aggy tean end up ranked #4 at the end, so you knew it was flukey. Well turns out that Saban defense was a little below Alabama’s standard and Jones was not all that, so Sark gets a lot of credit along with the oline and other skill guys. Even though Sark's first team here really sucked, I enjoyed his play calling, because when it worked, it was great and so much more exciting than anything since 2005, even most of what went on during Colt's years, where it was just mostly playmakers making plays.

Week 3, 2024: UTSA @ Texas
Gonna need something stronger than Coors Light, but with thirst quenching and hydrating properties, so I suggest water.

Tell Me About Michigan
No real life experience here, but part of my post Michigan game glow basking experience has been hitting the Michigan Youtube and podcast sites from both before and after the game. I must say there us plenty of content with quite a bit of actual analysis and film breakdown. It comes from the slant of Michigan messing some things up rather than Texas just overwhelming them, but they throw out a lot of praise for QE and Oline mostly from a talent appreciation perspective rather than technique, execution, play call type. Still much better than I have seen from any other opponent, but not better than Texags meltdown for entertainment. Very much worth doing a search and settling in, because the next month is going to be slow. Upper midwest accents will get to you after awhile. Overall I give them 3.5 Walleye out of 4.

For me it was the 3rd and 13 33yd pass. That was pure evil. Portend for the day. Texas would not punt until the second half. The O was the story of the day completely dismantling the vaunted M defense and taking the M offense out of it's game simultaneously. Complimentary football as Sark likes to call it.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
I was thinking they could have done hurry up while running the ball. Things for them we not really all that dire until late in the first half, which was the product of one flukey fumble and a batted pass int that 50%+ of the time ends up on the ground. The tipped int reminded me of Quinn's 1st int against Ou last year and his int the week before against CSU-not a terrible passes but ill advised-they happen to even good qbs.- Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
That 80% conversion rate had to be maddening for M fans in the first half-see Texas a few years ago. But those 3rd down calls and execution were money-nothing flukey or gimmicky, just straight up solid football. On the other hand, I thought Michigan got away from the run too early. I think they were quite capable of moving down the field 4 yds at a time. If Harbaugh had been there, I'll bet that's what he would have done. Couldn't have been any worse than what they did.- Texas vs. Michigan - 11am on Fox
Once you get to this level, nobody can tell how big your team is compared to the other team and for some positions it really doesn't matter. I'm sure no one was impressed with Javier Worthy's intimidating presence last year. Nor were the Miami Hurricanes impressed with our size back in the '91 Cotton Bowl. Pate probably mistook the effects of the slimming dark colors Michigan wore v. The "add 20lbs" of the road whites for Texas.- Week 3, 2024: UTSA @ Texas
Damn near 5 weeks before we play ou. This almost going to feel like the off-season. At least we can rely on Surly to be it's usual shitshow self as surely as the sun rises everyday.- Texas vs. Michigan - 11am on Fox
Pouty qb is partially rigjt. The first two turnovers were a bit freaky and he had some open pases that he could have delivered or receivers caught that were unforced errors on their part. There are always plays like that in any game and I think it is fair to say M had more of them in this game than Texas. However, there are other things, like missed penalties or penalties that should have been missed etc. If pouty qb takes in the whole picture, these things kind of even out and you are left with the result that is indicative of the team's capabilites, especially the larger the margin of vicory.- Texas vs. Michigan - 11am on Fox

On tv I saw some some Michigan fans using both hands combined and kind of weaving thier thumbs together to make a two handed horns upside down sign. The only problem was that the maneuver took so long and was ao difficult to turn upside down that it just ended up looking like a big mutated horns up sign. It was truly baffling that they were having problems with it while ou fans seem to be born doing it "correctly".- 2024 Random Games thread

That's what you get. People are still in offseason mode and we have a one game sample size to endlessly pick over obsessively with damn little pro football to take edge off. Expect a few diversions, most of which were at least somewhat game related except for the health and fitness blog that somehow popped up...lucky that thing didn't completely derail this thread.
