Best, lesser know part of Indiana State is what the city they are located in is largely known for in broader circles. My client contacts at IU used to point it out if they knew I had meetings with them.
Well, I could also claim my pops growing up in WWII Italy "stunted" the height genes but come on my WOP cousin, we both know our people are diminutive.
Were basically the same 5'9 I am shrinking in only age so probably 5'8 now. I only notice if I guy or girl is substantially taller or shorter than me. Say sub 5' or 6'6"+ I've never dated a woman under 5' nor over 5'9. And.. that's fine with me.
Prime Time thinks his results are disappointing and Okie State is "The Man" even if "A Man!" is no longer the HC. Those really are crazy number though.
It's truly not complex. If Flood could find some 6'9" Amazon woman who weighed 350 LBS and had a blocking pluse at the college level he'd absolutely pay them to play OG for Texas. And... I'd support it at this point.
Given the subjective nature of the committee, I suspect that had Texas blown out MSU and Kentucky with a CLOSE loss to Georgia they likely get in. 2 losses would have been top 10ish with 2 wins over top 10 teams... a single close loss to a shitty team gets a pass, like Bama did. But man.. it's all the past and doesn't really matter.
I mean, that's also an option, just don't lose at the wrong time. Though I admit I prefer the 2005 Longhorn and 2026 Indiana method. Higher level of certainty.
Our record didn't reflect that, over the course of the season, we were better than OU or Bama. We can go full fucking aggie and moral victory hypothetical wins against teams we didn't play, but I'm of the opinion a team should prove it on the field. We have zero clue how we would have performed against IU, and their D line would have caused issues all fucking day. Don't lose to shitty teams, beat shitty teams soundly and don't get blow out by good ones helps that proof. Or ya know, do like Indiana did and beat every team you face, particularly Georgia. That usually solves the issue. Or you can just cry about losing hard OOC games and complain about time running out.
Texas was also the only team with 3 losses. If you are doing a comparison, and want to be considered better than competition with fewer losses, the wins need to reflect that reality. You can't have similar near misses to shitty teams against competition with a better overall record. Were it any other team but Texas you would say exactly that.. but it's not so you don't. Hint, don't lose to 3 teams AND barely beat 2 shitty ones then expect to surpass teams with 2 or fewer losses. Also, don't get blown out by Georgia.
Oh, please know that the Georgia blow out was the lynch pin but every talking head I listened to also mentioned Florida, MSU and Kentucky. Yet, Bama got a pass for FSU. They all played a factor, the one that helped, the loss close to OSU. Blow out KY, MSU and the story is a different one. Harder to argue and fewer would have. The perception of lower tier SEC games being close, hurt us a lot. Of course so did a 100% loss rate to Georgia... remind you of any teams from the past that got in the NC game over Texas due to polling?
With the media it all comes down to perception and the perception they portray greatly alters polling. Polling and talking points directly alter the regarded ass commity. Remember when the perception of beating Bama during the regular season helped propel us ahead of FSU into the playoff? Remember how the perception of close games with MSU and Kentucky compounded with a loss to Florida (bad SEC teams) knocked us out? The bowl performance for conferences alter the may media and to a degree those who cast the vote in the coaches poll perceive conferences. Conference perception plays a big roll in the play off committee mind. I don't give one shit if you and everyone else here always wants the SEC to lose their bowl and every other non-con game. However, winning all of 2 bowls alters the perception of how strong the SEC was and that will play a factor this year in preseason polls, talking head jibber jabber and ultimately the committee decision making progress. You don't have like it or the SEC, but that is the reality of the world we live in today. Just be aware.. because shit like that can come back to bite you in the long run. If you think for one minute a conferences overall bowl game results don't alter media thoughts then please explain why the fuck they carry on about it after the season ends. They do think and write a lot about it. Writing about something is the clear proof they think about it. They always have, every year. If you think they look deeply enough into it to figure out the number of starters for each team, you vastly over estimate the thought process of media. They do care, proof is in their articles. Watch, prior to the start of next season I promise you it will come up. B1G winning the CFP in back to back years is altering the narrative, so will the SEC losing all but 2 of it's bowl games. I'll wager on it.
Hah, I watched this place pull against every single SEC team in pretty much every single game they played. Sure, hate on Georgia, aggie and OUsux, I get it, but it was all of them. In my pea sized brain I was thinking, hmm.. ya know, it looks bad for Texas in broad strokes if the SEC loses ALL of it's bowl games and obviously Texas' bowl game is a direct effect. Now the argument is the SEC is the best conference and bowl games don't mean shit. It's really amusing the swip swap swip swap this place is capable of crafting and the "logic" that follows.
Has not happened to this point in Sark's tenure. Quite the opposite. Shit blocking, top in the nation in penalties each season, and poor fundamentals. Forgive me if I don't hold my breath. I tend to believe actions speak louder than words.
1st round draft pic, 1st QB taken, probably top 10 and a starter for a shitty NFL team. He's not gonna be a back up, he just lead his team to a national championship and lost 2 games in the last 2 years.
