You’re exactly right about Baylor knowing exactly what we were gonna do and could do nothing to stop it.
For all his faults, the one thing Sark is doing correctly is building this team the right way- in the trenches. Both offensive and defensive lines really started to look dominant the last two games. If we can continue to build on that we really have the opportunity to build something lasting like Georgia and Alabama.
Really going to miss this guy and his athleticism. Had a phenomenal day. They interviewed him on the post game radio show and the dude absolutely LOVES the university of Texas. Hope he gets on a roster and makes a lot of money in the league.
I don’t think this crew was particularly biased today, I think they’re just REALLY incompetent. I didn’t disagree with any calls they made against us- most were false starts. At least they didn’t call back any big plays due to holding. They were more just dipshits but I guess I’d rather them call nothing questionable at all rather than make a bunch of bullshit calls. The OSU game was a different story- the hold they called on Ewer’s long scramble literally changed the outcome of the game.
I still think the RB’s will be above average next year.
the depressing part about his play was that there are plenty of receivers open. Sark is doing a fairly good job calling plays for him to be successful but he continues to force low percentage deep balls or overthrow/underthrow WIDE open receivers. Whittington’s draft stock suffered more than anyone’s due to his inability to accurately throw a ball within 10 yards of the LOS.
My 12 yo son chants “please run the ball” a couple times before every offensive snap because more often than not, Quinn throws an incompletion, turns it over or takes a sack.
You can’t tackle an eligible receiver even behind the LOS. Otherwise you’d have a dude who’s sole job is to tackle a running back on a screen or going for a wheel route.
Jesus- I don’t know what’s more annoying: play calling on last 2 drives, the officials refusing to throw a flag against Baylor or the fucking Baylor radio team doing the play by play and color.
Sark is a nice guy and I want him to succeed but he can’t get out of his own way. Whether it’s not having the team prepared for an inferior opponent or sticking with a shitty QB, he’s not doing what it takes to be great.
When a team is loading the box to stop the run, I expect any half decent high school QB to complete some easy throws and I expect half decent high school receivers to catch said throws if they hit them in the hands. That didn’t happen much in this game. Sark isn’t blameless but the offensive skill players really fucked up this game. Whittington is the only one who showed up. If you’re making that kind of NIL money, there’s no excuse to not show up laser focused for every game.
Ewers needs to stop throwing deep 10-12 times per game. He and Worthy don’t have chemistry or whatever. Feed Whittington, Sanders and RB’s more and pull out the deep ball as a change of pace. Instead, he overthrows Worthy by about 5 yards every time and stalls a drive when we run for 2 yards, then throw an incomplete deep ball and are sitting there at 3 and 8 every single drive
