You are correct on council not having any clue on how they impact housing costs, but wrong on developers being in bed with them. As one, I can tell you that developers and builders in the area do everything we can to try to get the city not to raise fees, etc. as these just get passed on to the home price. Raising the parkland fee because real estate prices are going up? The fees are used to improve existing parks, not buy new ones. Bond money is used to buy new parks.
Prayers sent to you. And the fact that you are crying about it means you ARE a man. Don't hide your fears from your wife - talk to her. Mine was my rock for me when my dad was fighting it years ago.
Love to your family during this time and God bless.
Can we give some money back to those that paid off their student loans...even if 20 years ago?
Completely agree the interest should be fully tax deductible and am surprised to learn it isn't.
Good size fire on 165 between Dripping and Blanco. Homes being evacuated. Dripping Springs is prohibiting all outdoor watering to help with supply to fight the fire.
Saw another good size fire east of SH 130/Austin area a couple of hours ago, but not seeing any news reports of it.
I know people that live paycheck to paycheck. They eat out several times a week, go to starbucks every morning, spend on frivolous things, etc.
Paycheck to paycheck to cover basic needs is one thing. Not reducing expenditures that can easily be reduced is another.
Saw the video last night. The shooter stood in the hallway and it looked like he shot into the door and then kicked the door open to us. Which would mean the door was not locked when he was in there and no one needed to find a key to open the door. Just a bunch of fucking cowards that should all be tried as accessories for doing absolutely nothing.
This is the one thing that I'm not getting, and I'm thinking may not be accurate. How can teachers protect their classrooms if they can't lock the doors? We have a few friends that teach or are in administration in Austin area schools and they say the teachers lock the doors from the inside.
Maybe this has already been discussed, but can the President not issue an executive order immediately banning the sale of AR's? Or at least stopping the sale of them for some period of time so Congress can maybe think about doing something?
Thank goodness. Hopefully they will keep the 24-hour test requirement when flying back into the country as well, since I'm going to Isla in a month.
But they sure better not change the requirement of not testing anyone that walks across the border. That would be ridiculous.
The tagline is wrong. It's not 2.5 hour flights, it's flights to places that can be reached by a bus or train in 2.5 hours. So more like a 45 minute or so flight, such as Austin to Houston.
