Urban ain't coaching here, he'd suffer a heart attack by the time the conference slate set in from having to deal with a team filled with quitters and miscreants.
Then you have this fucking clown :
He's been defending Sark and his staff throughout this entire 5 game fucking losing streak. If only Texas wasn't in the position to be in a fucking 50 point dogfight with an 1-8 team where it came down to a failed WR playing S (poorly I might add) his first year having to make a play at the end of the game.
Does he fall into the proven winner category though? Don't get me wrong I'm impressed with what he's done at UTSA and actually enjoyed watching a couple of their games. The last two coaches Texas plucked out of the G6 ranks didn't pan out. This is a bad season to have to replace a coach because LSU and USC are big time jobs looking for coaches and UF could very well be added into that mix shortly as well.
Back in 2013 Saban said no thanks opting to remain at Bama. Texas regressed further from 8-5 to 6-7.
Back in 2020 Urban Meyer chose the Jacksonville Jaguars over Texas. Texas regressed once again from 7-3 to ?
Who is the big name that will be willing to coach here? You think any respectable, proven winner is gonna wanna deal with this fucking mess? Any potential HC just needs to look back to the Bo Davis flareup to realize what they're getting into, a full rebuild with the most impatient fan base in ncaa football. The two greatest modern day coaches turned down big time money offers to dodge this joke of a program. Urban even went as far as to choose one of the NFL's worst franchises that was in complete and total shambles over the Texas football program.
There is no justification what so ever for being man handled at home to a fucking 1-8 KU team. Card is god awful, please for the love of fucking god never ever recruit another Lake Travis QB they always shit the bed at Texas. If Texas loses this Sark and his dumb shit DC both deserve to be fired.
Times have changed, a team requires two superstars minimum to be competitive in the post season. Ever since The Heat constructed the roster of LeBron, Wade and Bosh it built a blueprint for teams to acquire three superstars and fill out with the minimum, MLE, etc. Does it always work? No, but it's been successful for some teams. Vassell is displaying growth in year two, need him to develop into a big time talent he's only 21 so he can only go up from here.
The wait is nearly over, this game is gonna be HUGE. We'll have a real good idea where this team stands after tonight. Beard should make extensive use of the depth at his disposal.
Bo Davis is still popular amongst the Bama fan base, they never wanted to lose him. The older players Bo coached kept that intensity for some time passing it onto younger players, but it eventually began fading. Hell, Saban rips his players new asses when Bama is up by 20+ points, that is where Bo inherited this mentality and I'm glad he's trying to implement it here. It's a shame Bo has coached here during a down period in Texas football not once, but twice because he's passionate about what he does and he's extremely good at doing it too. This upcoming class with the commits on the line is going to bring that intensity and buy into what Bo is teaching.
