I'm sorry y'all... kept reading about La Traviata and I thought I would look this up...
Feeling borderline homicidal. Onions and cream in Carbonara? Bolognese served with 1) spaghetti and 2) spinach? 3) a touch of cream?
"But dago, what is wrong with you? These are fine..."
OK... "Texas Chili with beans and bell pepper" or "Brisket served with a side of ranch"
Honestly probably good enough. I'm just a big fan of having lenses that overperform in bad weather. Learned my lesson the hard way in very flat conditions. If you're going to lean in one direction on a set of goggles, shoot for a pair that covers flat light. My opinion.
I'm fine being familiar with none... plug'em into Spotify and start discovering. That's how ACL is for me... lineup comes out and I get to work. Good thing is the more I do that, the more familiar the lineups become and I don't focus on just the headliners.
Signed up for this one... need to dig to see if its worth my time. Seems a little too country-adjacent for my taste but I don't think that's the case up and down the lineup...
I never seem to be in town for SXSW but AISD's shimmy of spring break has changed that. I'm not buying a wristband but plan on seeing some free shows here on there. What do y'all have planned?
So far...
Sips and Sounds Day 2 at Auditorium Shores (paid event - was cheap - https://www.sipssoundsfest.com/lineup )
Most likely SoCo Stomp at C-Boys (free... five days of mostly local bands which is cool with me - lineup is https://timelyapp-prod.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/images/54714969/3rd Annual SOCO Stomp_8Oaj.jpg
Probably South by San Jose (no lineup yet - here's last year's - https://www.bunkhousehotels.com/hotel-san-jose/south-by-san-jose )
Will add some free shows that focus on specific countries and some unofficial shows. If I pay cover anywhere, I'm going for cheap. Don't care if there are free drinks or not. I'm there for the music.
Oh... save this -https://austinindependentmusic.org/shows/day/2025-02-13
The view of the construction barrels is lovely these days.
But yeah, Taos kicks ass on so many levels. Going the non NE NM way gives you Santa Fe (if you want), Taos, the beautiful drive up towards Alamosa...
