House prices falling like woah
Thanks Clever! This would be about 65 or so acres. Was thinking about calling MC Bank in Goldthwaite tomorrow to get the details on that type of loan. I’m sort of torn on whether or not to purchase. I love being down in that area, in Amarillo now, but not sure it’s something my boys would be interested in when I’m plant food. Be nice to build a barndo or something and have a cool place to hang out when it’s frigid in the Panhandle. My wife’s family has been in that county for close to a hundred years, they are in the NE part of the county, close to the Mt Olive Cemetery. Thanks @Brew! All of that makes sense now. The whole repo piece y’all have mentioned never even entered my mind from a risk standpoint to the lender.

Is the insurance fraud case still ongoing? Be interesting to see how this plays out.

House prices falling like woah
@jimmyjazz @Dbeasy thanks for the info. Are the real estate lenders the same for acreage, or are there more specialized lenders for rural stuff?

House prices falling like woah
Why are they higher than real estate rates? I didn’t know they were higher, just my luck. Wife and I are considering buying some land in Mills County.

Bourbon
Had two of the 1920 tonight in a steakhouse. I really wasn’t impressed, glad I tried it out and about before I bought a bottle. im not a huge high ABV fan though, prefer the smoother bourbons that don’t have a lot of bite, not sure mine is a fair review. I like to drink mine neat and don’t want anything harsh. I do like W12, Blantons and Basil Hayden for a reference. YMMV.

Prime Rib Christmas (Let's talk)
We always do the 500°, times 5 minutes per pound at room temp roast. At the end of the cook time, turn off oven and wait 2 hours, don’t open the door! At the end of the 2 hours it’s ready to slice. It’s a perfect medium rare every fkn time. We just coat the roast with butter, heavy salt and pepper, maybe some rosemary and cook it.

One of my high school coaches is in there somewhere. RIP Coach Cobb. Looked up the 69 roster online, bottom left corner #63, looks just like him.

Texas BBQ
Agree on the fuck Miller’s, they got way fucking big headed and their food went to shit. Didn’t he fuck over the meat market guy that was across the street? Schoepf’s changed from mesquite to oak which made a huge difference in their brisket.
