  1. Left over mashed potato tacos. Fried them in corn tortillas with green sauce and crema. These were damn good, had them two days in a row good.

Need to be on Inks. See what looks like a public ramp at Kingsland, just don’t know if it’s possible to get up by the dam. We fished below the dam a lot when I was young, just want to revisit that area from the water. Back in the day, up by the fish hatchery, they had rental cabanas and camping spots.
  3. Great buck! Glad you posted up the age, I was guessing 6.5 but hard to tell from the pics posted. He’s a hell of a nice deer.

Thanks fluff! I think that RV park is private , not positive. Wonder if I could put in somewhere around Horseshoe or is that going to be way to far from the dam?

I want to ease up the river and get close to the dam at Inks lake. We used to fish there a lot when I was young, back in the 70’s and 80’s maybe even earlier. Is there a public boat ramp somewhat close to there? Probably be in a bass boat so not to worried about rocks. I know up by the damn there are some huge rocks just below the surface. I’m not even sure if I can get up that far from down stream. Any help? Thanks!
  6. I have a 25-06 and love it. Funny thing, I have several rifles and love having them but hunt with a bow A man can never have to many guns. Right?
  7. That 257 is a flat shooting laser beam. I have read that the 257 was Mr. Weatherby’s favorite cartridge.
  8. Right now we are trying to figure out where the fuck they keep the fish.

Did you use a turkey carcass for the stock? Damn, that gumbo looks good!

    Yes you did, looks fantastic.
  11. The higher end scopes are more about gathering light than they are about distance IMO. They all perform on bluebird days, the top tier brands stand out in low light and or foggy conditions. This is especially true in binos and spotting scopes.
  12. Sung that lil diddy myself.
  13. Grilled backstrap and eggs? Congrats to the nephew, great deer.
  14. Not to mention loud.
  15. 243 is such an awesome all around caliber.

Thanks! It’s a blast to shoot.
  17. @Anastasis the Brie bites sound great, I’m not a big fan of goat cheese. The meal sounds great.
  18. What’s the scoop on the Brie bites?

@Droopy can you fire it up just like that in the pax, no grinding it?

I have a 45-70 lever that is a blast and a beast. It will absolutely ruin a pigs whole day.

I have some 30-30 if you are in a bind. 30-30 has probably killed more deer in Texas than any other round.
  24. You see many pigs? I hunt in Mills County and know they are around but I never see any, or their damage. It would be fun to thin them out but I’m actually glad we don’t have any.

That cheek video makes me want to cook them again. I’ve only cooked em once and thought they were a huge pain in the ass, had no idea what I was doing. Cubing them up looks much easier.
