Overrated Austin restaurants?
I enjoy Matt's El Rancho. Their margaritas are great and I 2nd the Shrimp a la Matt's is a great dish. Their grilled salmon and their redfish mojo de ajo and a la Mexicana are also very solid. Get an order of Matt's Fries to go and mix them with scrambled eggs and chorizo in the morning for a fantastic breakfast taco. Someone mentioned liquid smoke in an earlier post which reminds me that Hoover's is overrated, if they are rated at all.

My favorite is Earl's Skoal commercial, but I can't seem to find it to post. Here's a classic, though.

Longboard Horn's Thread for Restaurant Employee Hilarity
I slang bar b que downtown for a year. There was an item on the menu called "The Chunk", which was a big piece of the moist brisket served like a steak. It was really good, but as you can imagine, had a significant amount of delicious fat on it. At least 3 times a week, a customer would eat the more than 3/4th's of it and then bring it back and claim it was too fatty and wanted their money back. The manager always gave them a free banana pudding that could have been from 3 days earlier. Good times in food service!

Wichita Falls
Is Salt and Pepper still open? They had a couple of decent Mediterranean dishes but this was 10 years ago. Concur with the P2 Steak on Garlic/Red Draw recommendation.

I celebrate all of the Pitch Perfect movies.- Best Round of Golf
1996 at Forrest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock. 37-30 for a 67 from the Blue tees. The back 9 was magical and it remains one of the two rounds of my life under par. My other one was a 71 at Onion Creek. I'm a really shitty golfer now and can barely break 90.- Tell Us About Your Avatar
