Good deal.
Feels like I see alcoholics everywhere, and they just vary by degrees and functionality. Is it considered a "thing" to be somewhat of an alcoholic but rein it in enough to where it doesn't get totally out of control? There's no doubt I abuse alcohol, but I'm able to dial it back and sort of recognize if I'm not staying between the lines so to speak.
Ive talked to several alcoholics in my office and they all got to a point to where it was quit or everything falls apart. I have some health issues that I just don't think will allow me to get to that point, but again I guess I'm asking if its kind of an accepted idea that alcoholism is a spectrum and that its possible I'm sitting on kind of the lighter end?
CDC and at least a couple interested donors didn’t expect to miss the tourney. I know that for certain. I highly doubt that changes much and at that time I don’t think there was any real interest in paying another coach’s buyout to start fresh.
My guess is CDC will check in with a few of our more basketball enthused donors just to take their temp but I’d be shocked if there’s enough financial support to make a move. CDC damn sure isn’t diverting dollars away from other projects to make it happen.
It’s all just a bunch of college kids. You tell a sober kid not to drive and he tells you to fuck off. It’s a tragedy but get real. They didn’t allow any drunk people to drive.
If the navigator hadn’t chosen to drive the kid wouldn’t be dead. If the kid hadn’t decided to not wear his seatbelt then he wouldn’t be dead. They made their choice and the cowboys didn’t make it for them. They did, however, provide them with an option that wouldn’t have resulted in tragedy.
The point is breaking those rules isn’t what led to the kid’s death. I’m fine with the cowboys getting punished for breaking rules, but laying this kid’s death at their feet is wrong.
Arrangements were available for everyone. Most younger guys rode the bus. The only people who didn’t were people that chose not to. The driver of the car doesn’t drink at all let alone that night, and had obviously made the decision to drive back before he ever went out there.
You can argue until you’re blue in the face about hazing, that’s great. But pinning this kid’s death on the cowboys or whatever took place the night before is completely retarded. Not only was the driver sober, but the cowboys had arranged professional bus transportation for everyone to and from the property. Please explain how “hazing” killed him?
You have people in here blaming the cowboys alleged hazing activities for this kids death. It isn’t “tone deaf” to point out how ridiculous that is in light of the facts.
Nothing is less true about it today.
1. The driver was sober
2. They were asked not to leave.
3. The cowboys have nothing to do with a kid deciding to not wear his seatbelt.
UGA is recruiting at a ridiculously high level right now. I think they are the best in the game at the moment. We aren’t there yet overall, but I think our “visits” have caught up to the elite level in a hurry. Herman knows the game. I won’t believe we are out of it for Flowe until he visits and says we aren’t a major player.
