I went to the Pitt-ND game, and by the second half the Irish fans were cheering for the Veilleux to keep throwing passes. He looked lost out there. I was surprised he started the next two games. He was terribad.
Growing up an SD Charger fan, that is probably my favorite pro football game. That team was stacked on offense. It sucks they had to play in that frozen hellscape the next week.
It wasn’t all roses that drive. They had already sacked us once that set of downs. Another sack and we’re punting or going for it on fourth and long.
I don’t mind the call. Brooks very well could have broken that for a first down, especially if they were looking pass.
I would have gone for it on fourth, though. Especially with how disorganized they were.
I had a little black and white TV in my room in the early 80s. Rule was for Monday Night Football I could have it on when I was going to bed, but had to turn the brightness to low so the screen was off and just the audio came through. Somehow the screen would mysteriously get brighter again when the games were good. At least, that's what I told my parents.
