Side note - I only recently realized that the guy playing Barristan Selmy in GoT is also Grandpa Joe on Derry Girls. Mind blown. I was going to ask if we were spoilering stuff but it looks like a no? Wasn't sure if this was a bookfag thread or not. I haven't read the Dunk and Egg books but knew who Egg was by the time this series came out. Seems like they're trying to make it a big plot twist.
Ryan Coogler was on Amy Poehler's podcast and they talked about this. He said twins have always freaked him out, lol, and also he knew MBJ would be up for the challenge.
Streaming on Peacock now so I watched it today. I liked it a lot. It might be Yorgos's most accessible film, as strange as that sounds. Regarding the twist, When I first saw the trailer and saw her shaved head and face looking gross, I had a fleeting thought that she was actually an alien and that they would explain away her appearance with some disease. Then I mostly dispatched of that thought when they shaved her head and covered her in lotion. I didn't pay enough attention to the voltage number so that didn't do it for me, but what I did think was weird was when she reapplied the lotion herself to her face and head. Were the aliens wanting to colonize Earth? Is that what their line of reasoning was behind the whole thing? I don't remember everything she said in her speech about how things went down after they arrived.
