2025 NFL Draft
Through mock drafts I've been screwing around with, I've noticed that trading down to accumulate extra picks doesn't seem to pay off this year. The talent pool at critical positions is limited, making it essential to secure impact players when possible. More picks in this draft don’t necessarily translate to more talent. With the Texans, whether targeting an interior offensive lineman or a receiver in the first round, there’s a notable drop-off in talent by the time they pick again in the second. Trading up in the second round could be the right move to land an immediate contributor at both positions.

Texas 2025 Roster
I'm hoping for the best and preparing for whatever happens. I’ve had multiple shoulder and knee procedures at Carrell Clinic, and I was there in August. Some involved in Baxter’s pre-op and post-op believed his injury was more severe than disclosed, with August 2025 being an optimistic recovery timeline. No one is counting him out, but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not ready for Ohio State.

Surly kids who can't get into UT
My kid lettered three years in softball, but what got the attention of the service academies was attaining Eagle Scout. She received her Gold Award from Girl Scouts and joined BSA just for the camping and to attend Philmont and Northern Tier like her brother. On the other hand, a good friend of hers is one of the best softball players in DFW and she's heading to West Point after graduation if her shoulder passes scrutiny.

Fuck you, Arizona State
The deeper we get into the season - certainly the post-season - it seems that fewer targeting calls are being made or upheld. The ASU kid ejected from B12 championship game is the only player that comes to mind. It may just be that unless it's egregious and their hands are tied, they don't want to be the deciding factor or have a role in sending a team home. Akin to a home plate umpire that doesn't want to call a game-ending third strike on a ball that touches the outside corner of the zone, but is forced to when a player (most likely Aaron Judge) takes strike three through the heart of the zone.

Fuck you, Arizona State
I heard that and I'm aligned with the argument that it was a continuous action and that Bond was effectively taken out of the play by the hit. It could go either way, but the primary take away is that NO targeting calls were being made yesterday.

Agreed. Clemson has more talent, particularly at defensive line, quarterback, and wide receiver—players who will likely be playing or holding a clipboard on Sunday in a season or two. With depth and a coaching staff experienced in high-pressure games, even Clemson has a clear edge over Arizona State. That defensive front would likely dominate, disrupting ASU's ability to run or protect its quarterback. ASU has also struggled against equally talented teams where Skattaboo gets fewer than 20 carries because they're throwing more, which doesn't bode well against either Clemson or Texas. While ASU might try to throw, the Tigers’ pass rush would make this a difficult task, and if they do bottle up Skattaboo - say "goodnight." Cade Klubnik (did you know he went to "Westlake"? — drink!) would exploit mismatches in ASU’s secondary and linebacking corps. A dominant defense and a polished offense would control the game from start to finish. Clemson 38, Arizona State 17. That said, we're doomed.- OU Recruiting 2025: Truck Balls and Broken Dreams
Gotta know where the lines are when you cross them.- Eight or Nine Game SEC Schedule
I vote for nine. With the CFP expanding to 12 teams, strength of schedule becomes even more critical. A nine-game SEC schedule could position SEC teams favorably in the selection process by enhancing strength of schedule metrics. More higher-profile SEC matchups, more often, would also attract larger audiences and generate more TV revenue. Wouldn't that be helpful during future negotiations for media rights and contracts?- In honor of Luigi, stories/vids/pics/shit of people who had enough

"At Cascadia, big quakes are believed to come roughly every 500 years, give or take a couple hundred. The last occurred in 1700." “…the megathrust fault zone is not just one continuous structure, but is divided into at least four segments, each potentially somewhat insulated against movements of the others.” “the causes of the segmentation: the rigid edge of the overriding North American continental plate… This variety in the continental rocks causes the incoming, more pliable oceanic plate to bend and twist to accommodate differences in overlying pressure. In some places, segments go down at relatively steep angles, in others at shallow ones.” “...the Vancouver-Washington segment is quite smooth. This means that it may be more likely to rupture along its entire length at once, making it potentially the most dangerous section.” “…the shallow subduction angle means it probably extends directly under Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. This might magnify any shaking on land.” Damn.- CEO of UHG Shot and Killed in NYC - WTF is wrong with you New York
