  1. True BBQ plate, or a pastrami sandwich? Because I couldn't tell you how their brisket and sausage is, it's too hard to pass up on that sammich.
  2. Big fight this weekend. Am I the only one hoping Paddy gets his shit rocked? An "up-and-coming" 31-year old prospect who's been spoon-fed the most lackluster run to a title shot........ until now. Gaethje, the "grizzled" 37-year old vet of multiple wars, who will hopefully test him in the most important ways. I expect O'Malley to be too fast for Song. Derrick Lewis is hopefully fun.
  3. Midway through the 4th when the shit had already hit the fan, I was pretty much out of ideas as to who would get us out of the jam. We were knee deep in shit, and only a couple of KJ hustle plays could keep us treading water. Otherwise, the entire team looked gassed and out of rhythm. I had zero confidence in anybody to make a jump shot and that's a tough place to be in in the clutch. Really hope this one can be explained away by the back-to-back (tail end of 3 games in 4 nights). Somewhere in between the 1st and 2nd we were doing well, starting to press the pace, and I could see fatass Sengun start to get winded. Started to miss bunnies against Kornet, started to flail his arms while running. We were playing well but had one sloppy sequence that led to a Rockets fastbreak bucket, and Mitch called a timeout (not a run-breaking timeout, it was one basket). I hated that. Sengun wound up sitting for a good chunk after that. Felt like we should've pressed it harder and kept putting our foot on his neck and testing that conditioning. But oh well, in the end it was Wemby who had no legs. Loved Castle's stepback in the first quarter. After being blocked for the 3rd time I wish he would've tried some more mid-range, or floaters. If he would like to develop that some more, it might be a better idea than getting blocked 3-4 times at the rim in the same game. Carter Bryant got 11 minutes in a rivalry game on the road. Good for the kid. Didn't play bad. Still feel like those Vassell minutes would be much more helpful.
  4. Castle just going to get outplayed by Reed Sheppard huh
  5. It felt a lot cooler rooting for guys you might see in Jester. Or in a class. Or even at a house party or a bar on 6th street. They're just living the life like you are, chasing their dreams, which happen to be a lot cooler, most likely. Now it has tilted (ever so slightly) to the type of connection I have with Jerry Jones' Cowboys. I stopped giving a lot of shits about them when it struck me how they are HIS Cowboys and definitely not the fans'. I have a connection to the university that goes deeper than it's athletic teams, so the connection will never go away, but the fan connection does erode. Those 18-25 year old kids aren't in class or the dorms anymore. Prime example: Arch. To see a kid that just wanted to be in Austin because he thought it would be a lot cooler if he was.... a Longhorn. Since he was 10 years old, he wanted to be here. Yeah I'm sure they invested a lot in him, but he always wanted to be here, which made the decision that much more fun. I have something in common with Arch.
  6. Completely forgot I had a limit sell at $23 for UUUU. Accidentally closed my 4.75x profit this morning, exiting UUUU. You never go broke taking profits.... I guess. (You also never get rich jumping off the rocket) Now, do people REALLY care about curing cancer this time, or is this IBRX ride another memecoaster that will be back down to $3 by mid-February?
  7. I get it "makes sense" bc Paredes won't get ABs here. It does seem like a non-winning move to me to pick Correa and Walker over him. Maybe that's on the FO for giving such a contract to Walker... but it's felt like Paredes was the only hitter with a pair of balls at times last year. With Yordan out so much, it felt like he'd be the only guy threatening at the plate when you really needed a hit. I know F my feelings, but the WAR and the averages (especially compared to Walker's slumps) seem to agree. Oh well, Correa is a hometown boy though. Hope that he plays like he gives a shit in September then.
  8. Haven't posted on this thread in ages. But I was able to find an $80 bottle of Blanton's at Gulmohar's Whisky Paradise in St. Maarten. Easily the best souvenir pick up of a carribean cruise over the holidays. At that price point? Fuck it's a good bourbon. Just wish I wasn't so satisfied getting that and had also bought the gold bottle they had for $125. I've never seen Blanton's on the shelf anywhere in Austin, and my nephew got it set aside for him at $140 in the RGV. So, nonetheless, a great birthday sip and here's to hoping I'll be in that whiskey shop again in life....
  9. Fine, I'll admit it too. Pretty much exact same boat. I remember it spiking over $40 wayyy back when. I missed that chance and rode my average down under $6, while it sat for $2-3 for years. Finally got rid of it and put it in URA and have earned 12% back over the last few months. Oh well. It is still a bit funny to consider this a "spike" when I remember it at 5-7 a year or two ago, and obviously up over $40 at one point years ago.
  10. The cool thing about the transfer portal is that some of the signees, especially at running back, have already broken out. They were already NFL-caliber before they even signed with us. We don't have to wait for the breaking-out anymore, we can just let them produce.
  11. Fuck. Really could've used a KJ game tonight. Him and Barnes laying bricks all night instead. Rough. Get Wemby his beauty rest and get him closer to playing over 27 minutes a night please. This team is all kinda disjointed with him right now.
  12. Extreme trash. Sochan can go 0-5 from open threes with more energy.
  13. See a few posts above. Just a fucking shit ton of miserable fucking losers.
  14. Why 1 year? Why are you only "calling" for it? You can invade a sovereign country and remove their presidents, but only strongly-worded tweets to corporations. I'm sure they'll be tripping over themselves to fall in line.
  15. Kinda odd for them to assume the supreme being is that self-centered. And obviously only picks winners based on who "thanks" the hardest. As if every losing team in America has no believers. Pretty sure the God i believe in is above a hollow ego-trip, but that's just me....
  16. Loving this energy. Lakers look sluggish there.
  17. Lol @ thinking they will be getting anything cheap after the first wave of corporate looters gets their hands on the wealth of the country. The Venezuelans celebrating "libertad" in the streets are going to get a cold hard lesson in capitalism soon too.
  18. Fair, but im not buying it. I noticed last year that Wemby specifically, and the Spurs by affiliation, have had the target on their back. Teams have wanted to out-shine the Wemby Show for a while. But now we have the Dogs to impose our style on them. They better be ready for relentless pace and discipline.
  19. Great Fox game! GSG! I love that this team can give up lil runs, but we always have someone on the court that can calm the momentum shifts. They just are not phased.
  20. Shit I thought you were gonna leave the shaggybevo address and take on the complete "because F you" personality for this website. Assuming that place still gives all visitors computer AIDS.
  21. Everybody is locked tf in and moving their feet. It's inspired shit.
  22. Weird half. Too many open 3s given up to their role players, and they are hitting. Wemby looks fine, just hasn't made his presence felt yet.
